Anees Bazmee has directed hit films like Welcome, No Entry and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

We are talking about director Anees Bazmee. Hailing from a middle-class family, Anees is one of the leading directors in the industry today. However, he struggled for years to achieve this.

Anees used to carry speakers on the sets during the wrestling days. However, he had the talent to write, thanks to which he sooner or later got the chance to write films. He wrote the story for many films that he didn’t even get a credit for. After writing 5-6 films, he first got a credit for the 1990 film Swarg. At just 25 years old, he had written the story for a film like Swarg.

Anees really liked writing, but didn’t want to get involved in it. He had learned the nuances of directing under Raj Kapoor. He started directing films for the first time in 1995. After that, he directed many successful films including No Entry, Welcome and Ready.

Story of the struggle for success, in the words of Anees himself.

He used to go to Mushairas with his father, bring paan, beedi and cigarettes. Anees said: “The God above also gives wrestling only to those he considers worthy. We must not complain about the struggle. My father was a poet. He made me write ghazals and poems. From there I understood Urdu. By the time I reached eighth and ninth grade, I started going to mushairas with my father. Other poets also came there. I brought him paan, beedi and cigarettes.

I went to talk to my little brother, I got the job Anees added, “You may know me as a director or screenwriter, but I started my career as an actor. I actually went to talk to my younger brother and got the chance. It was said from the front that your brother was younger, tell me if you go to work? Well, I needed the money, so I said yes.

I needed money, small jobs too After trying his hand at acting, Anees felt he wasn’t cut out for it. He then also worked in the art, editing and sound departments. So, before working on directing and writing, he carried out numerous small jobs. At that time, he needed money more than following his passion.

Rents were increasing every year, to avoid this, more than 30 houses were modified. Anees changed more than 30 houses during the days of struggle. They did not stay in one house for more than 11 months. The rent increased every year. Anees didn’t have much money. Anees first bought a one-room house on Mira Road, Mumbai.

I met Raj Kapoor, from there the stars started opening. After doing odd jobs in the industry, Anees Bazmee met a writer. This writer introduced him to Raj Kapoor. It was from there that Anees Bazmee’s star started to rise. He said, “I learned the nuances of leadership under Raj Saheb. I was his assistant in his film Prem Rog (1982). After that, I started working with different directors. I worked as an assistant with a total of 15 directors.

I used to write stories, but I didn’t get credit After working as an assistant director for a while, Anees Bazmee started writing stories for films. It should be noted that he has also ghostwritten for many films. Which means he wrote the story, but someone else’s name is attached to it.

Talking about this, Anees says, “I won’t take the names of these films. It’s true that I’ve done ghostwriting for many films. I was paid for this work. However, after writing for 6-7 films, there came a point where my patience broke.

Wrote his name on posters from heaven, fought with the editor who cut the trailer The year is around 1990. Anees Bazmee has written the screenplay for Rajesh Khanna and Govinda starrer film Swarg. The film became a success upon its release. For the first time, Anees felt he should have a name too. He went around and put his name on the movie posters. Salim-Javed used to do this. Anees had arrived at the editor who was cutting the trailer of the film at 3 o’clock in the evening. Anees even fought with the editor because he didn’t include his name in the trailer.

Govinda, David Dhawan and Anees have lined up hit films together Anees continued to write for many years. At one time, his trio of Govinda and David Dhawan gave many films. Films like Shola Aur Shabnam, Aankhen and Raja Babu are examples of this. After writing for many years, Anees turned to directing. His real goal was to achieve, writing was just a medium.

Anees Bazmee was the first person to show Ajay Devgan in a negative light on screen. Finally, in 1995, he made his first film Hulchul. This movie wasn’t that special. His second film was Ajay Devgan and Kajol starrer Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha. This film became a real success. After this, Anees directed the film Deewangi with Ajay Devgan. Ajay Devgan was seen in gray in this film. Anees Bazmee was the one who first showed Ajay Devgan in a negative role.

Established as a successful director after No Entry The year 2005 has now arrived. Anees Bazmee directed the film No Entry starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan. It was the biggest success of that year. This film made Anees an important and influential director in the industry.

The success of No Entry gave Anees great confidence. After that, he never looked back. Films like Welcome in 2007, Singh Is King in 2008 and Ready in 2011 were released, the success of which made Anees the king of comedy films.

I used to write stories all night, my mother would stay there with tea Anees Bazmee was very close to his mother and father. He said: “I used to write stories all night. Whenever I wanted to drink tea while writing stories, my mother always stood there with the kettle. Now, whether it was one o’clock in the evening or two o’clock, it didn’t matter to him at all.

It was thanks to my father that I learned to write. If he hadn’t given me language training from a young age, you wouldn’t have interviewed me today.
