The Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP on Wednesday released the first list for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. It contains the names of 38 candidates. Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar will contest elections from Baramati. It comes under the Baramati Lok Sabha seat.
The Baramati Lok Sabha seat has been the traditional seat of Sharad Pawar. This time his daughter Supriya Sule had won from here. Supriya had defeated Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar in the Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) released the first list of 45 candidates. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will appear from Kopri Pachpakhadi. Whereas Minister Uday Samant received a note from Ratnagiri.
Mahayuti has announced 182 names so far. This includes the names of 99 candidates from the BJP, 45 from Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and 38 from the Ajit faction.
Voting will take place in Maharashtra on November 20 and the results will be declared on November 23. The term of Maharashtra Assembly ends on November 26, 2024. In Maharashtra, there is a Mahayuti government, namely Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), BJP faction and NCP Ajit Pawar. The opposition to the mandate and the distribution of votes among six major parties will pose a major challenge for the Sadhna party.
Mahayuti had published his manifesto on October 16.
First elections held under Shinde’s leadership CM Eknath Shinde had rebelled against the then Uddhav government in June 2022. He became the chief minister with the support of the BJP. In such a situation, this is the first parliamentary election under Shinde’s leadership.
