The Supreme Court’s YouTube channel was hacked on Friday September 20. Videos promoting the American cryptocurrency XRP, developed by Ripple Labs, were visible on the supreme court’s YouTube channel. A blank video titled “Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds to $2 Billion SEC Fine! XRP Price Prediction” was live on the hacked channel.
Previously, hackers changed the channel name and made the previous audience’s videos private. Now, YouTube has removed the channel due to violating community guidelines. On this channel, hearings of cases before the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court and matters related to public interest are broadcast live. Recently, the hearing of RG Kar Medical College, in a rape and murder case, was telecast live.

Supreme Court IT team sought help from NIC
A senior Supreme Court official said we are not sure what exactly happened. But it appears that the channel has been tampered with. He said the problem with the official YouTube channel of the Supreme Court came to light on Friday morning and the IT team of the Supreme Court sought help from the National Informatics Center (NIC) to resolve it.
