Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is gearing up to launch its first electric two-wheeler. According to media reports, the company will launch an electric scooter in the Indian market on November 27, it could be E-Activa. The launch invitation sent by Honda contained slogans such as “What’s Ahead” and “Lightning Bolt”.

The company claims that this scooter will be as powerful as Activa 110 and will have a range of 100 km on a single charge. It will also launch with a swappable battery. The company recently showcased its concept model at the EICMA auto show held in Milan, Italy. Post launch, it will compete with TVS i-Cube, Ather Rizta, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 series.

Design: The electric scooter will be available in three color options. E-Activa has a traditional scooter design, which looks quite simple. In this one, the headlight is placed on the front panel, while in the Activa petrol version, the headlight is available on the handlebar. The electric scooter will be offered with three color options. This includes Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Premium Silver Metallic.

The Honda electric scooter has a telescopic fork at the front and two shock absorbers at the rear. It uses a 190mm front disc and a 110mm drum brake at the rear. It features 12-inch alloy wheels on both sides. E-Activa will have a wheelbase of 1,310 mm, seat height of 765 mm and ground clearance of 270 mm.

Performance: 70 km of range on full charge with removable battery. If media reports are to be believed, the Honda CUV e electric scooter will be equipped with a mid-mounted electric motor with a maximum power of 6 kW. The scooter will have three driving modes: Standard, Sport and Econ. Apart from this, physical key and reverse mode will also be available as standard.

To power the engine, two removable 1.3 kWh batteries will be available, which will have a range of 70 km on a single charge and its top speed will be 80 km/h. The electric scooter takes 3 hours to charge from 0-75% and 6 hours to charge from 0-100% using a standard charger.

Features: Full LED lighting setup and USB-C charging port In terms of features, the CUV e has two different TFT consoles, the standard variant has a 5-inch instrument console, but it does not have no smartphone connectivity. While the Honda RoadSync Duo variant will get a 7-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for navigation, call/SMS alerts and music controls. The electric scooter will also come with an all-LED lighting setup and a USB-C charging port.
