Regarding the slogan ‘Bantenge to Katenge’, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said that this slogan is a response to the election campaign of Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA). Our colleagues were unable to understand the true meaning of this slogan.
He said the real meaning of “Bantenge to Katenge” is that we must live together. Prime Minister Modi said briefly: “If we are together, then we are safe. » This does not mean that we are against Muslims.
In fact, Fadnavis said this after BJP leaders Ashok Chavan and Pankaja Munde’s statement, in which both had said today that the people of Maharashtra would not like the slogan ‘Bantenge to Katenge’. This has no relevance.
Earlier, Ajit Pawar, deputy CM of Maharashtra and Grand Alliance member of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance, had said on November 9 that the slogan ‘Batenge to Katenge’ would work in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, but would not work in Maharashtra. I can’t stand it. Our slogan is – Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.
Fadnavis said, “This slogan is the response to the MVA’s appeasement policy. Fadnavis said the slogan ‘If we divide, we will reduce’ is the response to the appeasement politics of the Congress and the MVA. He waged voting jihad in the Lok Sabha elections and placed posters on mosques asking people to vote for a particular party. What secularism is this?
Our government has implemented many social protection programs for all communities. Did we say that “Ladki Behan Yojana” will not apply to Muslim women? There are 350 castes in the OBC which, if divided, will lose their importance. There are 54 groups in the Scheduled Castes and they will remain important as long as they remain united.
Fadnavis said the Ulema Council has just submitted a 17-point memorandum to Congress, which includes a request to withdraw charges against Muslims involved in riots between 2014 and 2024. If a community exerts pressure in this way and other communities are divided on the basis of caste, then your existence will be in danger. In such a situation, this slogan is a natural reaction.
Pankaja Munde had said, “Such topics should not be discussed in Maharashtra. BJP MLC from Maharashtra Pankaja Munde had also said that it is the job of a leader to consider every person living on this land as his own. We should not discuss such topics in Maharashtra. Yogi Adityanath had said this in the context of Uttar Pradesh, where different political situations exist. The meaning of his words is not what we understand.
There is a 40% Muslim population in the Chavan and Munde regions. It is a political constraint for Ashok Chavan and Pankaja Munde to speak out against the slogan “Batenge to Katenge”. Ashok Chavan and Pankaja Munde are from Nanded and Beed. There are 38 to 40% Muslims in his constituency. This Muslim community is converted. This means that he became a Muslim from the Maratha or Brahmin community.
In fact, Nanded and Beed were once the territory of the Nizam. The Nizam had forced the Hindus to convert to the Muslim religion. This is the reason why the Hindu community here does not consider Muslims as different from themselves. In such a situation, both leaders, despite not wanting to, make statements against the party line so that their vote bank is not affected.
Experts believe that this type of slogan will have a negative impact on the BJP’s vote bank in Marathwada. Last time, the BJP had secured 19 seats from Marathwada, but this time the number will be less than 10. Ashok Chauhan’s daughter is contesting from Nanded, while Pankaja Munde’s cousin Dhananjay Munde is contesting from Parli Assembly headquarters of Beed.
Rahul said, “BJP is playing divisive politics. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of promoting divisive politics. The Congress specifically condemned the slogan, saying it was an attempt to pit one religion against another.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said in Nagpur on November 9: Yogi has Ram in his mouth and a knife at his side. Yogi comes in the clothes of a saint and then says that if you divide, you will be divided. He is the one who distributes and he is also the one who cuts.
Kharge said that he had divided Manusmriti thousands of years ago and had been dividing it ever since. In Manusmriti, divided into Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shudra and Atishudra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi says if we are united, we are safe. If Modi wants to be safe by uniting, then Manusmriti will have to be burnt.
The Prime Minister had said: “If we divide, those who divide will organize rallies. Prime Minister Modi addressed the rallies in Thane and Washim on October 5. He told Thane: “The Congress and its allies have only one mission: to divide and stay in power. She knows that her vote bank will remain united. If we divide, those who divide will hold rallies and party. The Congress is run by urban Naxal gangs. She stands with the anti-nationals.
