Singer and composer Shekhar Ravjiani, who gave voice to big songs like Tujhe Bhula Diya, Bin Tere and Meherbaan, recently made a big revelation. His duet with Vishal Dadlani, Vishal-Shekhar, yielded hit Bollywood songs, although there was a time when Shekhar lost his voice. Recently, the singer confided that he was devastated by this accident. He thought he would never be able to sing again in his life.
Shekhar Ravjiani recently remembered this bad period of his life through a post on social media. He wrote, I’ve never talked about it before, but I felt like I had to talk about it. I lost my voice 2 years ago. I had vocal cord paralysis, which was diagnosed by Dr. Nupur Nerukar. I was devastated. I had really become pessimistic. I thought I would never be able to sing again in my life.
Singer added: My family was worried and I wasn’t happy to see them worried. I prayed a lot. I met Jeremy in St. Diego, he introduced me to an angel, which I will talk about later. Dr. Erin Walsh – who I was unable to meet due to Covid, so she joined me via Zoom call. I remember, with tears in my eyes, saying that I wanted to sing again. I begged him to do something. The first thing he told me was that I shouldn’t feel guilty if I lose my voice. He made me feel very comfortable and miraculously assured me that I would be able to sing again. This was the first step.
Shekhar further writes in his post: Every time I tried, I hated my hoarse voice. But she continued to continually work on my voice. Thanks to his dedication, my vocal cord paralysis was eliminated within a week and my voice began to return to normal. Now I’m completely fine and I can sing better than before. Thank you Erin Walsh for being my angel in this world.
Shekhar’s friend and fellow composer Vishal Dadlani wrote in the comment, saw you doing this. You worked on this in fear. This requires a different kind of courage. I always see how you take care of your voice and your mental health. Obviously, I also learn from it.
Let us tell you that Vishal Shekhar’s composer duo has composed for dozens of hit films like Dus, Om Shanti Om, Student of the Year, Chennai Express, Sultan, War.
