Mahindra & Mahindra will launch its two electric cars XEV 9e and BE 6e today (November 26). The company has released numerous teasers of the two cars. The company had recently unveiled the battery. The two electric vehicles will come with 59 kWh and 79 kWh batteries.
Before that, the exterior and interior designs of the two cars have been revealed. Both electric vehicles have a coupe roofline and will be the first electric cars to belong to the new XEV and Born Electric brands, which will be based on the new Inglo platform.
Multi-zone climate control, wireless phone charger and premium audio system can be provided in both electric cars. For added safety, safety features such as 6 standard airbags and ADAS Level 2 can be provided.
Exterior design: based on the INGLO platform The upcoming XEV 9e and BE 6e electric vehicles are both based on the INGLO platform, which has been designed for high performance. Electric cars with rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations can be manufactured on this platform. The XEV 9e will give the impression of a luxury electric car, while the BE 6e will offer bold and athletic performance.
According to the new teaser, the XEV 9e and BE 6e electric SUVs will have a futuristic and aerodynamic design with sharp elements. The front of the XEV 9e features L-shaped LED daytime running lights, a closed grille with a connected LED light bar and vertical lighting, a swooping hood and the new Mahindra EV logo.
At the same time, the BE 6e will have a front lighting system inspired by the XUV 3XO and will carry the BE logo instead of the Mahindra logo. The BE 9e features an inverted C-shaped connected LED DRL and a connected LED tail light. Both electric SUVs will have bold character lines and large wheel arches.
Interior: Both have a 2-spoke steering wheel and a panoramic sunroof. Earlier, Mahindra gave a glimpse of the cabin of the XEV 9e and BE 6e. The XEV 9e features a triple-screen setup, which includes a digital screen for the driver, a touchscreen and a screen for the passenger. While the BE 6e has an integrated dual screen. Both models feature a 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo and a panoramic sunroof.
175 kW DC fast charging will be supported. The company shared the battery and electric motor specifications of both cars. Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6e will have the option of a 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery. For charging, they will support 175 kW DC fast charging. Thanks to this, the battery will be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
Both cars will be rear-wheel drive with electric motors mounted on the rear axle, with outputs ranging from 231 hp to 286 hp. Mahindra has not yet disclosed its certified range, but it can range from 450 km to 500 km.
Features: A Level 2 advanced driver assistance system may be available. Coming to features, multi-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, premium audio system, and ventilated and powered seats can be provided in the XEV 9e. Vehicle charging and regeneration modes will also be available there.
At the same time, multi-zone air conditioning, wireless phone charger and premium audio system can also be provided in the BE 6e. For passenger safety, it can be equipped with safety features such as 6 standard airbags, 360-degree camera and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Starting Price: Rs 24 Lakh ex-showroom Mahindra Mahindra XEV 9e will compete with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV. At the same time, BE 6e will compete with Tata Curve EV, MG ZS EV, upcoming Maruti e-Vitara and Hyundai Creta EV.
