On September 5, the CBI investigation revealed that the day after the rape and murder of junior doctor Sandeep Ghosh had ordered the renovation of rooms adjacent to the seminar hall. On August 13, demolitions also began near the seminar room.
According to sources, the CBI received documents confirming that Sandeep Ghosh had written a letter on August 10 asking the State Public Works Department (PWD) to renovate the hall and toilets adjacent to the seminar hall. Ghosh’s signature is also on this authorization letter.
PWD staff had started renovation of the room adjacent to the seminar hall. However, students began large-scale protests against this matter, due to which the renovation work was stopped.

Sandeep Ghosh introduced an interview system for the appointment of in-house medical staff. However, there was no panel of investigators at the hospital. Final interview notes were released ahead of the appointment. Ghosh is also accused of failing to appoint many qualified junior doctors. Sandeep Ghosh was posted at Murshidabad Medical College between 2016 and 2018. He knew Biplav and Suman since then. Ghosh was running a corruption network with his security guards, Biplav and Suman. After Ghosh became principal of RG Kar Medical College, he called Biplav and Suman to Calcutta. He received numerous tenders for the hospital from both suppliers. Ghosh’s guard also used to contract with vendors to sell the hospital’s biomedical waste. Biplab ran many businesses including Maa Tara Traders, Baba Loknath and Tiyasha Enterprises. He used to apply for hospital tenders on behalf of all these companies. So that there is competition in the tender market. In this case, a single company that won the tender also found numerous flaws in the way tenders were awarded to Biplab companies. CBI said work order letters were written to many college officials, but these letters were never delivered to them. This means that other officers were not included in the tender process. According to the agency, Ishan Cafe, the company of Ghosh’s guard’s wife Nargis, got the contract for the hospital canteen. Sandeep Ghosh also returned the non-refundable deposit money to the guard’s wife’s company.
