Even when the shooting didn’t happen, he had to pay because he was associated with my film. Then there were floods in Assam. I also had other issues that I was dealing with. I had difficulty making this film. I felt very helpless. I used to be disappointed, but who should I show my disappointment to?
Sikhs had expressed their objection to certain scenes in the old trailer. Kangana shared the new trailer of the film on social media site X on January 6. All scenes that depict Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala and Sikhs as Khalistani and wrongly have been removed from the new trailer. Previously, the trailer of the movie Emergency was released on August 14, 2024. In which Sikhs were shown firing bullets. The Sikhs claimed that attempts had been made to portray them as terrorists.

Besides Faridkot Independent MP Sarabjit Singh, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex body of Sikhs, had expressed objection to the tape scene- announcement released on September 6, 2024. August 14, 2024. The film will release on January 17 after receiving the green signal from the Censor Board. Previously, this film was scheduled to release on September 6, 2024, but it did not get clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

3 scenes were deleted from the film Around 4 months ago, CBFC had stopped the certification of the film after opposition from Sikh organizations. CBFC had instructed to delete 3 scenes from this film. Along with this, strict instructions were also given that 10 changes should be made to the film before its release. Kangana had also expressed her anger over this.
Why was the release of Emergency banned, understand the whole matter. Kangana and Zee Studio had filed a petition regarding the release of the film. He had objected that the Censor Board had earlier issued a certificate to the film, but banned it four days before its release on September 6.
After this, Kangana had alleged that the Censor Board was not issuing a certificate to the film, which was delaying the release of the film.
In the petition, Kangana and the filmmakers accused the Censor Board of arbitrarily withholding the film’s certificate. The Censor Board had handed over the certificate via email, but refused to hand over the copy of the certificate just 4 days before publication.
Commenting on this, Censor Board lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud said that the makers of Emergency received the system-generated mail but it was later stopped due to an objection.
Kangana directed and produced the film Emergency. In the film, she played the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Kangana had said, “The censor board members are receiving threats to stop the release of the film. Kangana had said that CBFC had cleared the film, but later the certification was suspended. This is because there are too many death threats. Members of the censorship committee also receive threats.
There is pressure on us not to show the assassination of Indira Gandhi, or Bhindranwale, or the Punjab riots. I don’t know what to show next. I don’t know what happened, the film was suddenly blacked out. This cannot be trusted. Given the situation in the country, I feel very bad.
