Hero MotoCorp has launched the new generation Destiny 125 scooter in the Indian market. The updated scooter gets an LED projector headlight, a long seat and a new engine. The company claims that the scooter will travel 59 kilometers on one liter of gasoline.
Apart from this, many new features have been brought in Hero Destiny 125. The scooter has been introduced in three variants: VX, ZX, and ZX+. Its starting price has been maintained at Rs 80,450 (ex-showroom). The new scooter will compete with Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 125 and Honda Activa 125 in the 125cc segment.
The VX variant is available with three color options. Eternal white, royal black and groovy red. While the ZX variant will be available with two color options – Cosmic Blue and Mystic Magenta. While the ZX+ will be available in Eternal White and Regal Black colors with Copper Chrome accents.
The scooter will feature body-colored mirrors.

Design: An H-shaped LED DRL will be available. The second generation Hero Destiny 125 is built on the Zoom Xtec platform and changes have also been made to its design. The scooter features a metal front fender with LED headlight and taillight. An all-new H-shaped LED DRL and turn signals will be available here. The side panel design has been completely changed.
The updated Destiny 125 Xtec will receive a long seat and alloy wheels.
Hardware: Disc brakes will be available for the first time in Destiny. Many changes have also been made to the interior of the scooter. Now both wheels of the scooter are 12 inches and the rear wheel will now have a thick tire of size 100/80-12. Thanks to this, the ride quality has improved.
To achieve this, the company sharpened the lean by more than one degree and moved the pivot point of the swing arm to the top of the scooter. Thanks to the new wheel, the wheelbase of the Destiny 125 has increased by 57 mm.
The ZX and ZX+ variants come with 190mm front disc brakes. This is the first time disc brakes are being fitted to the Destiny 125, while the base VX variant will get 130mm drum brakes.
Performance: You will get a mileage of 59 kmmpl. The Destiny 125 engine has been updated. It will be powered by a 124.6 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which generates 9 PS of power at 7,000 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Hero says the CVT calibration has been changed to increase refinement and mileage. The company claims that the scooter will have a mileage of 59 km (ICAT certified).
Features like turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts. All three variants of the scooter come with CBS, side stand engine kill switch, trunk light, USB charging port and external fuel tank. For storage, the scooter has 19 liters of trunk space under the seat and 2 liters of storage space is provided on the front apron.
There is also a luggage hook on the front apron with a maximum weight capacity of 3 kg. Apart from this, a new semi-digital instrument console has been provided in the scooter. It will have features like smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts.
The base VX variant gets front drum brakes, an analogue instrument cluster with a small LCD screen, but misses out on Hero’s i3s fuel-saving start/stop technology. The mid-range ZX variant gets a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, a backlit starter. buttons, front disc brake, passenger backrest as well as self-cancelling indicators, which Hero claims are a first in the segment. The ZX+ has all the same components, but the chrome accents are finished in bronze and the alloy wheels have a machined finish.
