The Indian team cricketers will now have to play domestic cricket. During the series, he will not be able to advertise or travel with his family. It is now mandatory for players to attend training sessions.

The BCCI issued guidelines on Thursday evening following the 3-1 Test series defeat on the Australia tour and reports of discord in the Indian team’s dressing room. In this, 10 new rules have been developed to create discipline and unity in the team.

According to them, the management announced a ban on the presence of personal staff and players’ families. Players will not be able to do personal photo shoots during the series or tour.

10 points from the BCCI guidelines…

1. Players will not be able to travel with family. Players will not be able to travel with their families and spouses for the duration of the tour. This rule will especially work on overseas tours, so that players’ performances are not affected. For tours of less than 45 days, families and spouses may stay together for 7 days. If a player must travel with his family or separately, permission must be obtained from the head coach and the chairman of the selection committee.

2. It will be compulsory to play domestic cricket. It has been made mandatory for Indian team players to participate in domestic tournaments. Additionally, the national tournament performance will be considered as the basis for team selection. If a player does not play domestic cricket for any reason, then this information will need to be communicated to the board. In addition, authorization must be obtained from the president of the selection committee.

3. Players will not be able to carry a lot of luggage during the tour. If the player’s luggage weighs more, he will have to pay for it himself. The council also issued separate guidelines regarding weight and baggage.

Baggage policy…

Long tour players (more than 30 days): 5 pieces (3 suitcases + 2 bag kits) or up to 150 kg. Support staff: 2 pieces (2 large + 1 small suitcase) i.e. up to 80 kg Short tours (less than 30 days) Players: 4 pieces (2 suitcases + 2 kit bags) i.e. up to 120 kg. Supervisory staff: 2 pieces (2 suitcases) or up to 60 kg. Home Series players: 4 pieces (2 suitcases + 2 kit bags) or up to 120 kg. Support staff: 2 pieces (2 suitcases) or up to 60 kg.

4. Baggage must be sent separately to the Center of Excellence. All players will be required to contact the team management to send luggage or personal items during the training cap at the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. If an item is shipped using different methods, the additional cost will need to be borne by the player.

5. There will be no personal staff in any tour or series. The player’s personal staff (such as personal manager, chef, assistants and security) will not participate in any series or tour. Unless authorized by the board of directors to this effect.

6. It is mandatory to be present at the training session. From now on, every player must be present at the training session. No one will leave the workout early. During a series or tournament, you will have to travel with the team from one location to another by bus. The board of directors established this rule to create bonds between players.

7. No player will be able to advertise. No players will be allowed to do personal filming in the series and tour. During this period no player will be able to advertise. The board made this decision so that the players would not get distracted.

8. Little time for family touring abroad. If a player stays 45 days on tour abroad, his wife and child under 18 years of age can stay with him for 2 weeks in a series. During this period, the BCCI will bear the costs of his stay, but the rest of the costs will have to be borne by the player.

On the other hand, any person (family or other) can come to the player for a final meeting only after discussion with the coach and the captain. During this period, if a player violates the rules, the coach, captain and general manager will be responsible. The player will bear the costs himself after the deadline.

9. Will be required to participate in official shoots and functions: Each player will be expected to participate in official shoots, promotions and any other programs of the BCCI. This decision was taken to promote the sport and for the benefit of the players.

10. After the end of the series, players will not be able to return early. All players must remain with the team until the end of the tour. The player will have to stay with the team even if the series ends early. Each player will return with the team on the scheduled date. During this period, no player will be able to return home early. This decision was taken to strengthen team cohesion.

Warning of strict action if the guidelines are not followed, the board asked all players to strictly follow the guidelines. Additionally, a warning was also given regarding disciplinary action if the rules are not followed. If a player is unable to follow any of these instructions, he will need to obtain permission from the chairman of the selection committee and the head coach.

If a player violates the rules, the board will not allow him to play in tournaments, series and even IPLs. Apart from this, the board can also terminate players’ salaries and contracts.
