Electric vehicle startup Wayway Mobility today (January 18) launched Wave Eva, the first solar-powered electric car in the Indian market. The company claims that the car will travel 250 kilometers once fully charged.

The Wave Eva is a small car, similar to a quadricycle. It can accommodate 2 people and a child. This electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 5 seconds. This car will compete with MG’s Comet. It was first showcased in its concept avatar at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Starting at ex-showroom price Rs 3.25 lakh, the Wave Eva is offered in three variants – Nova, Stella and Vega. The starting ex-showroom price of its base variant Nova is Rs 3.25 lakh. It has a battery in the form of a subscription plan. While customers will be able to purchase the electric vehicle without a battery subscription at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 3.99 lakh.

These prices will apply to the first 25,000 customers, whose deliveries will begin in 2026. The company said that Wave Eva had been equipped with a flexible solar panel, thanks to which the car could travel 10 kilometers per day.
