Audi India today (September 30) recalled 37 of its high-performance vehicles due to a technical fault. This company recall affects Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT models manufactured between January 9, 2020 and June 12, 2024.

The company told the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) that the recalled vehicles had been identified as having a defect in the brake hose on the front axle.

Possible front brake failure Recall documents state that friction over time from frequent steering use can damage the front brake hose (cable). This could cause cracks to form near the attachment point.

Due to this defect, brake fluid leakage can lead to front brake failure and an accident. An alert to check the brake fluid level will also be available on the electric car’s digital instrument cluster. However, the rear brakes will operate during this time.

No fees will be levied on the customer The company said Audi India’s authorized workshops would contact the owners of the models, where the defect would be rectified. Vehicle owners will be informed of the replacement of the defective part. No fees will be charged to the customer for repairing defects or replacing parts.

The car runs up to 500 km on a full charge The e-Torn GT has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 1.72 crore and the RS e-Torn GT has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 1.95 crore and both models come with a battery of 93 .4 kWh. The e-tron GT has a WLTP range of 500 km on a full charge. While the RS e-tron GT has a range of 481 km on a full charge.
