Today, i.e. October 8, the Sensex is trading at the level of 81,570 with a rise of around 500 points. Nifty is also up 170 points, it is trading at 24,970 level.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 are up and 11 are down. Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 30 are up and 20 are down. Except for the IT and automobile sectors, everyone is doing business at a brisk pace.

Mixed activity for Asian markets

On the Asian market, the Japanese Nikkei is down 1.20%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is trading down 7.38% and China’s Shanghai Composite is trading up 4.81%. On October 7, the US Dow Jones fell 0.94% to 41,954 and the Nasdaq fell 1.18% to 17,923. The S&P 500 also closed down 0.96% to 5,695. According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹8,293.41 crore on October 7. During this period, Domestic Investors (DII) purchased shares worth ₹13,245.12 crore.

There was a market drop yesterday Earlier yesterday i.e. on October 7, the Sensex had fallen by 638 points and closed at the level of 81,050. Nifty also fell by 218 points and closed at the level of 24,795. At the same time , the BSE Small Cap Index fell 1,827 points and closed at 54,117.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 were down and 7 were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 were down and 10 were up. Except for NSE’s IT sector, all closed lower.
