German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new long wheelbase E-Class in the Indian market. The updated luxury sedan received several design changes and technical improvements. Apart from this, for safety purposes, it comes with features like 8 airbags, ADAS, and 360-degree camera for passenger safety.

The car was presented with three variants – E200, E220d and E450 4Matic. Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 78.5 lakh. Deliveries of the E200 variant will begin soon, while deliveries of the other variants will begin by the end of this year. The long-wheelbase 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class competes with the long-wheelbase Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series.

Its production will be done at the company’s manufacturing facility in Pune. The special thing is that India is the only market for the global label where the right-hand drive (RHD) version of the E-Class LWB is manufactured.

Exterior design: new star-pattern grille and slim LED headlights Minor changes have been made to the dimensions and styling of the 2024 E-Class. The length of the sedan has been increased to 5,092 mm. To increase cabin space, the wheelbase has been increased by 15mm and the height has been reduced by 2mm, making it more attractive.

The front features a larger and newly designed star-shaped grille than the current model. Slender LED headlights are found on both sides. There are chrome highlights around the grille, new Tristar elements and a Mercedes logo in the middle. It also has a chrome skid plate on the lower part of the bumper.

Mercedes has provided flush door handles on the side. Another special feature is the Maybach-inspired rear quarter window. The 18-inch alloy wheels have also been redesigned. This model is now available with a new Nautic Blue color. Apart from this, Obsidian Black, High Tech Silver, Graphite Gray and Polar White color options are available.

Interior: Adjustable rear seats with triple screen configuration The interior of the 2024 E-Class offers an optional brown, beige and black theme. Speaking of the biggest change in the cabin, there is an all-new MBUX Super Screen. This widescreen infotainment system spans the dashboard, consisting of a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 14.4-inch central infotainment screen, and a 12.3 inches for the front passenger.

This luxury sedan has three seats with adjustable headrests in the rear. These seats can be reclined up to 36 degrees and the under-thigh support can be increased by 40mm. The rear center seat can be folded into a center armrest, which also houses a wireless phone charger and storage space.

Electric adjustable sun blinds have been installed in the rear doors of the new E-Class. The electric closing function is also available in the rear doors. Its front passenger seat has a power sliding function, which can increase the legroom of rear passengers with the press of a button.

Mercedes-Benz has also provided wireless charging points at the front and rear. Apart from this, the car features 4-zone automatic climate control with digital ventilation control, 17-speaker Burmester audio system, 64-color ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and memory function for seats Before.

Performance: three engine options with mild hybrid system Three engine options will be available in the new E-Class. It is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 204 hp of power and 320 Nm of torque.
