Chennai-based electric vehicle startup Rapti.HV today (October 14) launched its first electric bike Rapti.HV T30. The bike is India’s first high-voltage electric bike. The company claims that the bike will be able to travel 200 kilometers once fully charged. The bike has been introduced in two variants – T30 and T30 Sport. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 2.39 lakh.

The company has developed this electric motorcycle to compete with conventional 250-300CC petrol motorcycles, but it will also compete with electric motorcycles like Torque Kratos and Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2. Deliveries of the electric vehicle are expected to begin in Chennai and Bangalore from from January 2025, with plans to expand further depending on demand. Design and features: 7-inch touchscreen Talking about the design of the Rapti.HV T30 electric bike, it features sharp lines, a diamond-shaped headlight, and a split saddle setup with a sleek grab bar. Apart from this, the bike has a 7-inch touchscreen display, which supports Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Four color options will be available in the electric bike. This includes Arctic White, Eclipse Black, Mercury Gray and Horizon Red.

Battery and range: Actual range of 150 km For the performance of the e-bike, a 22 kW electric motor has been provided, which generates 70 Nm of torque. The company claims that the bike can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 3.5 seconds. It can reach a maximum speed of 135 km/h. The motorcycle has three riding modes: Comfort, Power and Sprint.

To power the electric motor, a 5.4 kWh battery was provided. The company claims that the bike will have a range of 150 kilometers once fully charged. At the same time, its IDC range is 200 kilometers.

The bike supports high voltage CCS2 charging. This charger is used in electric cars. With this, the bike can be recharged at over 13,500 charging stations present in India. For a comfortable ride, the bike is equipped with a USD front fork and a monoshock suspension at the rear. Both are adjustable for preload.
