Net profit of IRCTC, the online ticket booking service provider of Indian Railways, increased 4.47 per cent on an annual basis (y-o-y) to Rs 308 crore in the July- september. Last year in the same quarter (Q2FY23), the company’s net profit was Rs 295 crore.
Whereas in the last quarter (Q1FY25), it was Rs 307 crore. IRCTC on Monday (November 4) released the results for the second quarter of the financial year 2025, i.e. the second quarter of the financial year 2025.
IRCTC provides catering and tourism services in railways. The company also operates 2 Tejas trains. 12.38 lakh tickets are booked every day through its website and mobile app. The company also offers flight and bus travel booking services.
Revenue grew 7% YoY to Rs 1,064 crore IRCTC’s second quarter revenue grew 7.25 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,064 crore, compared to Rs 992 crore in the same quarter last year. While in the last quarter (Q1FY25), the company’s revenue was Rs 1,118 crore. This means that the company’s revenue declined by 4.8% in Q2 FY25 compared to Q1 FY25.
IRCTC shares fell 20% in 6 months, fell 2% today Ahead of the results, IRCTC shares closed at Rs 815, down 2%. The company’s shares have fallen 10% this year and 20% in 6 months. IRCTC shares are up 20% in the last one year.
IRCTC profit rose 32.75% in Q1 Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited’s profit in the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year 2024-25 was ₹308 crore, up 32.75% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis. The consolidated net profit in the same quarter a year ago was ₹232 crore.
The company’s revenue increased by 11.88% on an annual basis. Operating revenue stood at ₹1,120 crore in Q1FY25. Revenue stood at ₹1,001 crore in the same quarter a year ago. IRCTC had released its first quarter results on August 13.
IRCTC joined Indian Railways in 1999.
