Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 rose and 12 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 32 were up and 18 were down. While one stock closed without any change. In the NSE sectoral index, the oil and gas sector recorded the highest gain of 1.64%.

Asian markets also remained optimistic

Reliance, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors boosted the market. While Zomato, TCS and HCL Tech dragged the Sensex lower, in the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei rose by 1.97% and Korea’s Kospi by 0.14%. At the same time, China’s Shanghai Composite Index closed up 0.71%. The IPO of Quadrant Future Tech Limited and Capital Infra Trust InvIT opened today. Investors will be able to bid until January 9. The shares will be listed on the BSE-NSE on January 14. According to NSE data, on January 6, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,575.06 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DII) also purchased shares worth Rs 5,749.65 crore. On January 6, the US Dow Jones closed at 42,706 with a decline of 0.060%. The S&P 500 index rose 0.55% to 5,975 and the Nasdaq rose 1.24% to 19,864.

There was a sharp drop in the market yesterday

All sectors of the NSE sector index closed lower. PSU Bank closed with a maximum decline of 4.00%. Along with this, there was a decline of 3.16% in the real estate sector, 3.14% in metal, 2.71% in media and 2.18% in the automobile sector.
