Today, November 25, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 80,109 with a gain of 992 points. Nifty also gained 314 points and closed at the level of 24,221. At the same time, the BSE Smallcap rose by 976 points and closed at the level of 53,589.
Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 24 rose and 6 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 43 were up and 7 were down. All sectoral indices on the NSE closed with gains. Nifty PSU Bank rose the most by 4.16%.
Foreign investors sold shares worth ₹1,278.37 crore
HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank and Reliance dominated the market. While Infosys, JSW Steel, Tech Mahindra and Asian Paint dragged the market down. In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei rose 1.30% and Korea’s Kospi rose 1.32%. China’s Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.11% lower. On November 22, the US Dow Jones rose 0.97% to 44,296 and the S&P 500 rose 0.35% to close at 5,969. The Nasdaq also closed up 0.16% to 19,003. Today is the second day of bidding for the Enviro Infra Engineers Limited IPO. This total was subscribed 2.09 times on the first day. Investors will be able to bid on this issue until tomorrow, November 26. The company’s shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on November 29.
The issue size of this IPO is ₹650.43 crore. The company plans to issue a total of 4,39,48,000 shares. This includes a fresh issue of 3,86,80,000 new shares, while the promoters will sell 52,68,000 shares. The face value of each share has been fixed at ₹10.
The market had closed higher on Friday earlier on Friday, i.e. November 22, the Sensex had closed at the level of 79,117 with a rise of 1961 points (2.54%). Nifty also rose by 557 points (2.39%), and closed at 23,907 level.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 29 were up and 1 was down. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 49 were up and 1 was down. Except for Nifty Media, all sectoral indices on the NSE closed with gains. The IT and real estate index is the one that has increased the most.
This is the strongest stock market recovery in 5 months. Earlier on June 3, a day before the Lok Sabha election results, the Sensex had soared by 2,507 points and closed at the level of 76,468. While Nifty rose by 733 points and closed at the level of 23,263.
