On Tuesday, December 16, the second trading day of the week, the Sensex fell by around 700 points. It is trading at the level of 81000. Nifty is also trading at the level of 24400 with a decline of over 200 points.

Banking, automobile, metal and IT stocks fell the most. NSE’s Nifty Bank index is down around 1%. The automobile, IT and consumer goods indices are down around 0.50%. While the Nifty Media and Realty index is up around 1%.

Mixed activity for Asian markets

In the Asian market, the Japanese Nikkei is up 0.16% and the Korean Kospi is down 0.90%. China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading down 0.44%. According to NSE data, foreign investors’ (FII) net sales on December 16 stood at Rs 278.70 crore. During this period, domestic investors’ net sale (DII) stood at ₹234.25 crore. On December 16, the US Dow Jones fell 0.032% and closed at 43,754. The S&P 500 rose 0.38% to 6,074 and the Nasdaq rose 1.24% to 20,173.

Final day of International Gemmological Institute IPO

Today is the final day of bidding for the IPO of the International Gemological Institute, a company that certifies diamonds and jewelry. This IPO was 77% subscribed over the last two trading days. The company’s shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on December 20.

Anand Rathi and GK Energy shares file DRHP

Anand Rathi Share & Stock Brokers Ltd, the brokerage arm of the Anand Rathi Group, has filed a draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI to launch an IPO. The company aims to raise Rs 745 crore through its IPO.

Meanwhile, GK Energy Limited, which is a supplier of solar-powered agricultural water pump systems, has also filed a DRHP IPO application with SEBI. GK Energy’s IPO includes a fresh issue of Rs 500 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 84,00,000 shares.

The market closed lower yesterday

Yesterday, December 16, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 81,748 with a decline of 384 points. Nifty also fell by 100 points and closed at the level of 24,668. At the same time, BSE Midcap closed at the level of 48,126 with a gain of 350 points.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 25 fell and 5 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 fell and 9 rose. While 1 action was closed without any changes. Nifty Realty closed with the highest gain of 3.10% among NSE sectoral indices.
