Today, December 16, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 81,748 with a decline of 384 points. Nifty also fell by 100 points and closed at the level of 24,668. At the same time, BSE Midcap closed at the level of 48,126 with a gain of 350 points.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 25 fell and 5 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 fell and 9 rose. While 1 action was closed without any changes. Nifty Realty closed with the highest gain of 3.10% among NSE sectoral indices.
Asian markets also fell
Infosys, TCS, HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel were the biggest losers in the market. While IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank and Power Grid dragged the Sensex higher, in the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell by 0.033% and Korea’s Kospi by 0.22%. China’s Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.16%. According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) purchased shares worth ₹2,335.32 crore on December 13. During this period, Domestic Investors (DII) sold shares worth ₹732.20 crore. On December 13, the US Dow Jones fell 0.20% and closed at 43,828. The S&P 500 fell 0.0026% to 6,051 and the Nasdaq gained 0.12% to 19,926.
Anand Rathi Share & Stock Brokers and GK Energy file DRHP
Anand Rathi Share & Stock Brokers Ltd, the brokerage arm of the Anand Rathi Group, has filed a draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI to launch an IPO. The company aims to raise Rs 745 crore through its IPO.
Meanwhile, GK Energy Limited, which is a supplier of solar-powered agricultural water pump systems, has also filed a DRHP IPO application with SEBI. GK Energy’s IPO includes a fresh issue of Rs 500 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 84,00,000 shares.
There was a rise in the market on Friday
Earlier on Friday, i.e. December 13, the Sensex had closed at the level of 82,133 with a rise of 843 points (1.04%). At the same time, Nifty also closed at 24,768 level with a rise of 219 points (0.89%).
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 26 were up and 4 were down. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 41 were up and 9 were down. The FMCG sector witnessed the highest rise of 1.29% in the NSE sector index.
