Today i.e. December 13, Sensex is trading at 80,180 level with a fall of over 1,000 points. Nifty also fell by 300 points, it is trading at 24,200 level.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 29 are down and 1 is up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 48 are down and 2 are up. All sectors of the NSE are down. The metallurgical sector experienced the biggest drop of 2.45%.
Mixed activity for Asian markets
In the Asian market, the Japanese Nikkei fell 1.23% and the Korean Kospi rose 0.50%. China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading down 1.43%. According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹3,560.01 crore on December 12. During this period, Domestic Investors (DII) also purchased shares worth ₹2,646.65 crore. On December 12, the US Dow Jones fell 0.53% and closed at 43,914. The S&P 500 fell 0.54% to 6,051 and the Nasdaq lost 0.66% to 19,902.
The International Gemological Institute’s IPO opened today. Investors will be able to bid on this issue until December 17. The company’s shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on December 20.
The company aims to raise ₹4,225 crore through this issue. For this, the company’s existing investors are selling 65,947,242 shares worth ₹2,750 crore. Along with this, the company is issuing 35,371,702 new shares worth ₹1,475 crore.
The market had closed lower yesterday earlier yesterday i.e. on December 12, the Sensex had closed at the level of 81,289 with a decline of 236 points. At the same time, Nifty also fell 93 points and closed at 24,548 level.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 were down and 12 were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 35 were down. Energy, consumer packaged goods and auto stocks fell further. At the same time, growth was seen in IT and banking stocks.
