These missiles can carry 480 kg of nuclear warheads or conventional weapons. This missile is considered important for countries with nuclear weapons. Hypersonic missiles are more lethal than subsonic cruise missiles in destroying underground weapons warehouses. Due to their extremely high speed, hypersonic missiles are more destructive. Hypersonic missiles are adept at maneuverable technology, that is, they change the trajectory in the air. With this, they can also target targets who change location. Due to this ability, it is difficult to avoid them. DRDO successfully tested a Hypersonic Technology Demonstration Vehicle (HSTDV) in 2020. India is moving towards manufacturing its own hypersonic cruise missile using the HSTDV.
