1. CDS General Anil Chauhan paid a 5-day official visit to Algeria. On October 31, the Chief of Defense Staff, General CDS Anil Chauhan, paid a 5-day official visit to Algeria. It will hold negotiations and agreements on diplomatic and military cooperation issues between the two countries by November 4.
During his visit, General Chouhan will meet the Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, Army General Syed Chanegriha.
To increase military cooperation, General Chauhan will visit the prestigious Algerian War College. He will address many senior army officers here.
2. The National Unity Day parade was organized on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The National Unity Day parade was organized in Kevadiya, Gujarat. 1. 6 major changes have been recommended in the NEET exam. A committee headed by Dr K. Radhakrishnan, former ISRO chief, has recommended major changes in the conduct of the NEET exam. In its report sent to the Education Ministry, the Radhakrishnan Committee recommended many major changes, such as conducting exams in multiple phases, adopting online exams and a hybrid model.
2. Delhi HC rejects petition for school admission of Rohingya children
The Delhi High Court has rejected the petition filed to allow admission of Rohingya refugee children in local schools. This PIL was filed by an NGO. It has been said that under the Right to Education Act, 2009 of the Indian Constitution, education is a fundamental right of refugee children.
It has also been stated in the petition that the Delhi government and MCD are not allowing admission of these children due to lack of Aadhar card. The bench comprising Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said the court would not get involved in the matter. The court said this issue should be discussed with the Union Home Ministry.
