This time the success story is that of Kartik Aryan. Karthik has been active in the film industry for 13 years.
An industry outsider who used to find auditions through Facebook and Google. Audition candidates told you to your face that you could never become an actor. Sometimes, even if films were available, they were removed at the last moment. However, it was only thanks to self-confidence that such difficulties did not dash his dreams.
We are talking about actor Kartik Aryan. The success story of Karthik, who hailed from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and became one of the biggest actors in Bollywood, is quite an interesting one. We say this because they have not received any support to get here. The position they are in today is due to their years of struggle and their strong will.
The story of the struggle for success, in the words of Karthik himself…
His parents were doctors, but the situation was no better. Karthik belongs to a middle class family. His parents are doctors, but the family’s financial situation was not very good. The parents had to make a lot of sacrifices to provide for Karthik and his sister.
This is the reason why Karthik gets a lot of motivation from his fight. He considers his mother a fighter and follows in her footsteps.
As a child, I didn’t think about anything other than medicine and engineering, as Karthik’s parents are doctors. Apparently since childhood he was also told to become a doctor or do engineering. However, Karthik was interested in films. He said: “When I was a kid I said I wanted to be a doctor or an engineer.
However, while watching films, I didn’t realize when I started to gravitate toward acting. We watched a lot of movies at my house. Every weekend, my sister and I would sit in front of the TV. Growing up, we only had two or three jobs. Watch movies, play sports and go out and play.
He used his studies as an excuse to go to Mumbai. With age, Karthik’s interest in theater grew further. Karthik decided that he had to enter the world of acting somehow, but for that he had to go to the Mayan city of Mumbai. Plus, you also needed an excuse to go. What would you say to your family?
Due to this, he started fighting for admission to colleges in and around Mumbai. He wanted to come to Mumbai to study and also do the audition work.
Karthik traveled two and a half hours every day to give auditions and lived in a rented house at a place called Belapur in Navi Mumbai. From there, he traveled two and a half hours every day to reach Andheri. Most of the film auditions were held in Andheri.
Karthik used to carry clothes with him. I used to look for a toilet somewhere at the audition venue so we could change. Karthik was also stopped from giving auditions on several occasions. Quite simply because they got there directly without any source.
Karthik said that he had also worked in many ad films before stepping into the industry. Here too, he had to struggle a lot to find work. He was standing right in front of the camera, holding a board. I didn’t have a big role. I also had to face a lot of rejection. Many times, Karthik’s courage was broken. He was also crying.
On the day the film was received, a fatal accident took place between 2010 and 2011. Karthik’s stars started to shine a little. He managed to reach the audition for Luv Ranjan’s film ‘Pyaar Ke Punchnama’. I was selected in the audition there. However, while returning from there, he met with an accident.
He said, “As I was returning from the audition, the rickshaw I was sitting in overturned. My leg was broken. It was as if all the dreams had been shattered there. I started thinking I had a really hard time getting the film, now how am I going to shoot it? I was afraid of being excluded from the film. However, when I contacted the film’s production team, they extended the schedule by a few days.
Even after making two films, he lived in a PG with 12 people. After directing ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, Karthik directed another Luv Ranjan film ‘Aakashvani’. He received considerable recognition from both of them. Especially his 5-minute monologue in “Pyaar Ka Punchnama” became very famous. However, even after doing two films, Karthik’s struggle continued. They still lived in the same PG with 12 people. Used to cook all the food for them.
The friends living with Karthik were mostly struggling actors. Karthik was not in a position to ask for much money even from his parents. Therefore, he sometimes used to borrow money from friends to meet his expenses.
Achieved real success in 2018, after which the series of big films began. Karthik got real success in the film ‘Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety’. This film grossed over $100 million at the box office. After this film, he started making big films. In the Covid era, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ earned over Rs 260 crore and established Karthik as a commercial entertainer.
Karthik’s biggest dream was to live with his parents in a big house in the city of Mumbai. As the city was expensive, it was initially difficult to realize this dream. However, after achieving some success, he first bought a house in Mumbai, where he now lives with his parents.
In comparison to Shahrukh-Akshay, he said, “I can’t even touch the level of both. Karthik is compared to Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. Like these two superstars, Karthik is an underdog and is currently one of the biggest actors in the industry. Even though the audience and fans compare Karthik to Shahrukh and Akshay, Karthik himself has a different opinion on this issue.
He said, “There is no comparison for me with Akshay and Shahrukh, sir. The journey of both of them has been quite great. Both of them have ruled people’s hearts for many years. I’m a fan of both myself. I can’t touch his level. Yes, I also have an audience who appreciates me. I try to entertain them as much as possible.
He used to drive a used car, now he has many cars, including Mini Cooper, Lamborghini, in his garage. Currently, Karthik owns many cars including Mini Cooper and Lamborghini. However, during the days of struggle, he drove a second-hand car.
Speaking about it, he said: “I had bought a second-hand car. It was such a car that no one would buy it, even for free. I used it for many years. Well, I had no other choice, I didn’t have much money to buy a good car. I just took it for racing.
