The famous actress of the 90s, Raveena Tandon, turns 50 today. On this occasion, he gave an exclusive interview to Indianewsget.
“I am not comfortable with kissing scenes on screen. I have a limit, I will never be able to cross it. I was asked to wear a short dress in a film. I categorically refused. I think you don’t have to wear short clothes to be beautiful. Movies are driven by stories and not by heroines wearing short clothes.
Raveena Tandon said this in an interview with Indianewsget on the occasion of her 50th birthday. Raveena, born on October 26, 1974, has seen many ups and downs in her career, but she has never compromised with her principles.
There was a time when there was a lot of discussion about Raveena’s beauty. Even the former prime minister of neighboring Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, was impressed by her beauty.
Raveena Tandon never wanted to enter the field of acting. She wanted to become an IPS officer. She was a big fan of Kiran Bedi, the country’s first woman IPS officer.
One day, he was asked to shoot a film alongside Salman Khan. The film’s producer GP Sippy had called Raveena’s father. That film was Pathar Ke Phool. The year was 1991. The girl who never wanted to act quickly became one of the biggest heroines of the 90s.
Raveena used to go to school with oil in her hair and two braids. Raveena said, “You won’t believe it, I was very fat as a child. She went to school with oil in her hair and two braids. Nobody thought I would one day become an actress. My brother was more interested in acting than me. My mind was not on action but on direction.
When I left for an internship, I was truly introduced to the outside world. Raveena added, “When I was in 8th grade, I helped my father in a film. After 10th, I started interning under Prahlad Kakkar (well known advertising executive). From there, I learned things like ad filmmaking, pre and post production.
During this period, I was introduced to the outside world. I traveled by train and bus for the first time, met people. In a way, for the first time, I had outside exposure.
Friends started saying, just make a film, take a photo with Salman. While Raveena had no desire to venture into films, what happened to make her join the industry? In response, he said, “At that time, Mahesh Bhatt Saheb had launched his daughter Pooja Bhatt. People also told my father to start his daughter. However, I wanted to find work on my own.
My boss Prahlad Kakkar also said that how long will you stay behind the camera, you should come forward. I was rejected one offer after another. Then I was offered a film Pathar Ke Phool with Salman Khan.
Salman had become very famous at that time through ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. I told my college friends that I had been offered a film with Salman. All my friends jumped for joy and started pressuring me to sign the film. Finally, I also got permission from my father and said yes to the film.
Worked with Salman, but had a lot of fights on the sets Raveena said, “Salman and I used to argue a lot on the sets. Just like our siblings fought at home, we both fought on the sets. Salman often pulled my leg. I was irritated and started fighting with him. Well, at that time we were both children. Now, with time, we have become very good friends.

Like Salman, Raveena has never given a kissing scene on screen. There is one thing in common between Raveena Tandon and Salman Khan. Both of them have never given a kissing scene on screen. Talking about this, Raveena says, “Well, I didn’t know that even Salman has never kissed on screen.
Well, kisses, etc. are very personal things. I’m not comfortable with on-screen kissing scenes. Now I can never do anything I’m not comfortable with. I have a boundary that I can never cross.
She was asked to wear a short dress in Shahrukh’s film Raveena added, “I was asked to wear a short dress in a Shahrukh Khan film. I categorically refused. I wouldn’t want to take the name of this film.
I think you don’t have to wear short clothes to look beautiful. If the makeup and dressing style are good, beauty will emerge automatically. No matter how short the dress you wear on screen, if the story isn’t strong, the movie won’t work.
Raveena was traveling in an open jeep, people stopped and stared Raveena Tandon was going to college in an open jeep. Every time she passed on the road, there was a line of people looking at her. Raveena said, “I had a Mahindra jeep which I used to go to college. Dad taught me to drive. He was giving me more information about the car’s tools than the car itself. It told me a lot of things, including gear shifting, cooling water, and overheating.
When the Air Force trolled Nawaz Sharif by writing Raveena’s name on the missile The Kargil War took place between India and Pakistan in 1999. An interesting incident occurred in this war. Indeed, the Indian Air Force had written the names of Raveena and Nawaz Sharif on a missile sent to Pakistan. It was written on this missile- FROM RAVEENA TONDON TO NAWAJ SHARIF
Let us now move on to the context of this case. In fact, Nawaz Sharif had praised Raveena Tandon in an interview. He had called Raveena his favorite actress.
Photo of the missile fired at Pakistan.
There is another story about this. During the Kargil War, the Indian Army claimed the bodies of its martyred soldiers. It was then that the Pakistani army made a strange request. He said we would give the dead body, but in exchange Raveena Tandon and Madhuri Dixit should be sent to Pakistan.
You’re a celebrity, which means it’ll be your fault Raveena said that if we look at the past and present, the attitude of the public and media towards celebrities has changed a bit.
At the end of the interview, he said: “Earlier, everything about celebrities was published in newspapers. We didn’t even ask him anything. His opinion was not considered important. It was believed that if the person was a celebrity it would be their fault. There has been a slight change in today’s times. Now even celebrities’ points of view are heard.

“I’m very lazy and shy… I don’t like meeting people at all. I’m not comfortable in crowds. Even if there are more people than necessary on set, I feel uncomfortable.
Many times I ask myself why I came to this field? But luckily I got a hit film like ‘Bahubali’ and now I don’t get any other chance.
