The process of bringing Anmol Bishnoi, accused in actor Salman Khan’s house shooting case, from America has begun. On April 14, two people on bikes opened fire at Salman’s house. However, there was no human or material loss. Anmol is the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, lodged in Sabarmati jail.
A senior officer of the Mumbai Police’s crime branch said the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) court had already issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Anmol. The court also issued a Red Corner Notice to search for him abroad.
According to Mumbai Police, certain court documents are currently awaited, after which a formal extradition proposal will be sent to the central government for further action. The Special Court had approved its application from the Crime Branch on October 16. Hopefully the police will get the documents soon.
Earlier on October 25, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence. Apart from the firing at Salman’s house, Anmol is also an accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and Baba Siddiqui.

On April 14, at 5 a.m., two attackers on bikes fired four bullets at Salman’s house, Galaxy Apartment. Salman was at home at the time of the shooting. After the incident, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde spoke to Salman Khan over the phone. Shinde had requested the Mumbai Police Commissioner to increase security for Salman.
The Lawrence Bishnoi group had taken responsibility for the shooting. Anmol Bishnoi, a member of the group, had shared a post. It has been written that Salman may also be attacked in the future. However, this publication has not been confirmed by the police.
Lawrence had threatened Salman in March 2023. Salman Khan’s security was tightened after he received a threat from Lawrence Bishnoi in March 2023. He was given Y+ category security by the Maharashtra government. The NIA had said Khan topped the list of 10 people whom jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had threatened to kill. 1. In June 2022, when Salman’s father Salim Khan, who was taking a morning walk, was returning home, he received an unknown letter in which he and Salman received death threats. It was written in the letter: “Salman Khan will make your condition that of Moosewala”. After this, Salim Khan contacted the police with the help of his security personnel and a case was registered in this regard at Bandra police station. 2. Last year, Mumbai police had arrested the person who called Salman and threatened to kill him. The perpetrator of the threat was a 16-year-old minor. While threatening the Mumbai Police in a call, he gave his name as Rocky Bhai. He said that he was staying in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and would kill Salman on April 30. 3. Last year, Dhakadram, a resident of Jodhpur, had sent 3 emails to Salman’s official mail. It said that Salman Khan is your next number, you will be killed like Sidhu Moosewala as soon as you arrive in Jodhpur. 4. In January 2024, two unknown persons attempted to enter Salman Khan’s farm by breaking the fence. When arrested by the police, both declared themselves fans of Salman. The NIA announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Anmol Bishnoi on October 25.
