Actor Sanjay Mishra considers himself lucky to have been able to play many types of characters in this industry. In the film ‘Jaiye Aap Kahan Jayenge’, Sanjay Mishra played the role of a father who scolds his son from time to time. In the film ‘Jaiye Aap Kahan Jayenge’, you played the role of a father who constantly taunts his son on every issue. How did your father behave when you were growing up?
My father used to be away for work. My childhood was spent with my grandparents. Grandpa would come in the morning, turn off the fan first and ask you to get up in 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the form sheet was removed and an additional 10 minutes was allowed. Even after that, if he didn’t wake up, he would hold his hand and make him sit on the stool, walking him around the entire veranda twice. I used to point fingers at everything. I thought my biggest enemy was my grandfather.
Now that you have become a father yourself, how do you behave with your daughters?
All fathers in the world are like that, they want their house to be run according to their wishes. Today, when my daughters wake up late, I tell them it’s time to get up. She says today is Saturday. I ask what does this mean? If you get into the habit of waking up late on Saturday and Sunday, you won’t be able to sleep on Monday. You become like that with your children, it’s genetic.
In childhood, what words of father and grandfather seemed bad; after you grew up, did you realize that what they were saying was right?
You see, if you start believing their words to be true, you won’t be able to achieve anything in life. Will remain just a father for the rest of his life. Every time I expressed my desire to become an artist, all I heard was, “Which artist?” Is there no more work to be done? If I had lived thinking of them, I would not have become an artist today.
What education are you giving your daughters?
I advise them to be normal. I believe that if she stays normal, she will live a good life. I understand them that if you go ahead with the dream of winning, try to lose even once. Because defeat can happen at any time in life. There should be no changes in life because of this. My daughters are very nice, but I can’t get them off their cell phones.
For what ?
Mobile has become like an addiction. My challenge is that no father or guardian can separate their children from their mobile. We are also involved in this. Mobile has now become a blast. I never put pressure on my daughters regarding studies. If you get less marks in any subject, I say no problem. What is the number, she will definitely bring it. Girls really like football. She is also the school’s soccer captain.
Did you name your daughters Lamha and Pal in a very beautiful and meaningful way?
I believe that life should have meaning. The name should be such that people remember it.
What do you want your daughters to become?
You should never impose your opinions on your children. I don’t impose my opinions on my daughters either. I play him classical music early in the morning. They may or may not listen, but I listen. If not today, maybe in 15 years. I want to make my daughters absolutely normal people. Just like you.
