Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra recently spoke about the worst phase of life. He said his first feature film, Sajaye Maut, didn’t do very well. Because of this, he was disappointed. He even decided to commit suicide. But for the sake of his family, he took a step back.

Talking to NDTV, Vidhu Vinod said, “Many people don’t believe this, but many years ago I had to commit suicide. I was disappointed. I stood on the Lonavala highway, watching the moving trucks. I was one step away from dying. But the love of my family stopped me.

Was disappointed with the failure of the film

Vidhu Vinod further said that this incident happened right after the release of the film Sajae Maut Ki. Released in 1981, the film was an adaptation of the FTII diploma film Murder at Monkey Hill, starring Naseeruddin Shah. This film did not perform well at the box office.

Vidhu said: Happiness is not in the result but in the struggle.
