Nouren said: “I had already made it clear to Vivian that I could not marry a person of another religion. It’s not good for me. Vivian was not a Hindu, but a Christian. There are many similarities between Islam and Christianity, but women do not convert to our religion. So I walked away from Vivian for six months because I was afraid whether or not he would do the same thing to me.
Nouren said: “I felt that if he changes his religion for a woman, society will not forgive us and if I do not live up to his expectations, he will regret it later. This was a huge step. We didn’t speak for six months and I didn’t respond to his messages. But then I found out from a friend that he continued to study my religion. I had no help with this.
She said: “He met some people and after six months he told my friends he wanted to talk to me. He said he was willing to change his religion, not for me, but for himself, so that even if I didn’t live with him, he would convert to Islam. It took me 1-2 weeks to believe he was doing it for himself, because I didn’t want him to stray from his roots for me.
