We Enter the new year with new hopes and new possibilities. Everyone makes New Year’s resolutions. The goal is only one: to make life better. For example, students resolve to study with a better schedule. Those who work in a company resolve to get a promotion by completing their projects on time.
The question is how this will be possible? The direct answer to this question is: “When our health is good”. If health is good, then all other things in life will be good too.
This is why today at “Sehatnama” we have brought 6 resolutions on health.
Expert: Dr Amrita Mishra, nutritionist and dietetic, New Delhi
These are not resolutions that require a lot of work. We’re not saying you have to get up at 5 a.m. and go for a run. We are also not saying that you should not try Chole-Bhatura or Puris. All we are saying is to incorporate the 6 things written below into your daily life.
What are these 6 things, let’s see –
1. Eat a plate of salad before lunch and dinner.
This resolution will not require any effort. Before eating, cut a carrot, a radish, a cucumber and a tomato and eat them. No worries about cooking, no worries about saving. It’s a five-minute job.
The good news is that none of these things are expensive or rare. The price of half a kilo of carrots is less than that of a packet of crisps.
After eating a plate of salad, you can eat whatever you want. Puri and Chole Bhature, chaat and samosa as well.
What are the benefits of eating a plate of salad rich in fiber and vitamins before eating anything, see the graphic below –
2. Wherever there is an elevator or elevator, use stairs only.
How much effort does it take to climb a few flights of stairs? Try this, then you will understand how simple the resolution is. It’s easy to do if you don’t have too heavy luggage or if you’re not sick.
According to the American Council on Exercise, climbing stairs burns 8 to 11 calories per minute. If you climb just 20 steps a day, you can lose up to 4 kg of weight in a year without exercising. It has many other advantages. See the graph:
3. By bike, not by car, but on foot
Usually, a vegetable or milk store is not very far from home. Barely 500 to 1000 steps are necessary. But even for such distances we take bicycles and cars.
This year, make a small resolution to never travel a distance of a few kilometers by car, car or bicycle, but only on foot. It’s very easy to do. Under this pretext, there will be morning and evening walks.
If you incorporate this simple task into your daily life, you will benefit from these 8 benefits:
This will help with weight management. Heart health will improve, bone health will improve, and sleep quality will improve.
According to a study published in the medical journal Springer, if a person takes just 3,800 steps per day, their risk of developing dementia decreases by 25%. People who take around 10,000 steps each day reduce their risk of dementia by 70%.
It has many other advantages, see the graphic:
4. If you’re hungry, don’t buy packets of biscuits, chips or cakes to eat.
This is a very small and simple resolution. We often open a bag of chips or cookies when we are hungry and eat them. Of course, you feel full after eating it and you also consume a lot of calories. But nothing is available in the name of nutrition.
Packaged foods also increase lifestyle and risk of chronic diseases. So always keep dried fruit or any seasonal fruit in your bag. Keep the roasted peanuts or makhana. So you don’t buy a bag of chips when you’re hungry. How much benefit will you get by doing this, see in the graph below:
5. If you are thirsty, drink water, not cold drinks.
It has become a trend that if people are out of the house and thirsty and their throat is dry, they immediately buy a cold drink and drink it. It’s a bad habit. This only harms health. By spending money, we welcome diseases.
Make a resolution this year to only drink water when you are thirsty and to always keep a bottle of water with you. By doing this, these things will happen –
Will relieve acidity, constipation and gas. Will help detoxify the body. The skin will remain healthy and radiant. The leptin hormone will not increase and food consumption will decrease.
6. From now on, we will have dinner before 7 o’clock
The last and simplest health resolution this new year is to eat dinner before 7 p.m.
You don’t need to work very hard for this. We have dinner at 8-9am. Push back this time frame a little and eat 1 to 2 hours earlier. You can’t even imagine the incredible benefits this small resolution will bring. See the graph:
These 6 small resolutions can save you from many illnesses and bring a big change in your life.
The most important thing is that there is no separate effort to achieve this.
