More than 3,000 tourists were sent home to Puri and hotel bookings were stopped for the next four days.

Andhra Pradesh: Winds gusting between 30 and 50 kmph are expected along with heavy rains in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.
Karnataka: Even before the storm arrived, heavy rains created flood-like conditions in Karnataka.
Tamil Nadu-Pondicherry: The IMD has issued a five-day heavy rain warning in Tamil Nadu, southern India, and some eastern Indian states.

On Tuesday evening, five teams of the 7th Battalion of the NDRF reached the Bhubaneswar airport in Odisha.
The Indian Air Force airlifted the NDRF team, 150 troops and relief materials to Bhubaneswar in Odisha.
An IL76 and AN 32 aircraft were brought to Bhubaneswar from Bathinda, Punjab. The plane arrived here early Wednesday morning.
