5 accused arrested today in Baba Siddiqui murder case, Mumbai crime branch nabbed from Panvel area.
The Mumbai Police crime cell has arrested five accused from Panvel area in the murder case of Nationalist Congress Party leader and former minister Baba Siddiqui. They are accused of being involved in a murder conspiracy.
Prior to this, four arrests were made, making a total of nine accused arrested so far. Earlier on October 15, accused Harish Balkaram was arrested from Bahraich, UP.
Baba Siddiqui was shot dead on October 12 around 9:15 p.m. He was in his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra. As soon as he came out, six bullets were fired at him. Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility for the murder.
Aide of terrorists arrested in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, 4 grenades recovered
In Jammu and Kashmir, police and security forces arrested a person associated with a terrorist in a joint operation. The accused was arrested from Dundak area of Surrankote area of Poonch. 4 grenades were recovered from him. Fraud case registered against Union Minister Prahlad Joshi’s son, brother and sister, accused of defrauding Rs 2 crore in the name of ticket project
A fraud case has been registered against Union Minister Prahlad Joshi’s brother Gopal Joshi and sister Vijayalakshmi. Gopal’s son Ajay Joshi is also named in the FIR. The complaint was filed by Sunita Chavan, wife of former JD(S) MP Devvand Phool Singh Chavan. According to Sunita, she had contested the 2023 parliamentary elections, in which she had to face defeat.
He alleged that Gopal Rai had taken Rs 25 lakh from him by promising to get him a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections. But I didn’t get the ticket. Asking for the refund, Gopal said a project worth Rs 200 crore was about to be received. Another Rs 75 lakh crore was taken in his name. But now they are not returning the money. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand said Rs 2 crore was paid in installments. This is currently being verified.

Non-Kashmiri youth shot dead in Jammu and Kashmir, deceased was from Bihar
A non-Kashmiri youth was shot dead in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Police recovered the body from Wachi area of Zainapora in South Kashmir district. The deceased has been identified as Ashok Chauhan, a resident of Bihar.
Fire on third floor of 4-storey building in Delhi, 2 people dead, 2 children saved
A fire broke out on the third and fourth floors of a building in Delhi’s Shahdara area. 2 people died in the fire. Firefighters said the fire broke out at 5:25 a.m. Upon receipt of the information, 6 calls for fire tenders were sent. The fire was brought under control after 2 hours of effort. Two children were rescued from inside the house. At the same time, two corpses were also evacuated.
The cause of the fire is unclear. However, initial investigations revealed that the fire could have been caused by a short circuit.
Fire at Calcutta hospital, 80 patients evacuated, 10 fire engines on site

UGC NET results declared; Over 1.12 lakh candidates qualified for PhD
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the UGC NET results on Thursday. Under this, 1,12,070 candidates managed to qualify for Ph.D. Apart from this, 53,694 passed the exam for assistant professor posts. While 4,970 qualified for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
This year, 11,21,225 candidates had registered for UGC-NET, out of which 6,84,224 appeared for the exam. The new test was conducted across 280 Indian cities for 11 days, from August 21 to September 5, 2024. The exam was conducted in 83 subjects. The examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode was conducted in 21 teams.
National Testing Agency announces changes in JEE Main 2025 exam pattern, removes optional questions from Section B
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a significant change in JEE Main 2025 (under this, the option to select questions in Section B of the exam has been removed. The NTA on Thursday issued a notification in which JEE Main 2025. The official website of the exam has been released.
In another notification, the NTA said the option to select questions in Section B, introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, will no longer be available. This means that all the candidates appearing in JEE Main 2025 will have to solve all 5 questions from Section B.
Arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina, production order until November 18
The International Criminal Court in Bangladesh on Thursday issued arrest warrants for 45 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and senior Awami League leaders. This order comes in the case of alleged crimes against humanity committed during the student movement.
According to the report, 46 people, including Sheikh Hasina, have been arrested and must be produced before November 18. A total of 200 cases have been registered against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Of these, 140 are linked to murder.
