Why only these 6 faces in the cabinet including CM Atishi?

1. Atishi: approved by Kejriwal and Sisodia She maintained a strong pro-party stance even while Kejriwal and Sisodia were in jail. While in jail on Independence Day this year, Kejriwal had recommended Atishi’s name for hoisting the tricolor. She was a key member of the committee that prepared the AAP manifesto for the 2013 parliamentary elections. Since then, she has played an important role in the party’s expansion.

2. Saurabh Bhardwaj: strongly supports the party Member of Parliament and Minister since 2013. He is a trusted leader of Kejriwal. Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Atishi were constant attackers against the BJP during Sanjay Singh’s stay in jail. After Atishi, when Manish Sisodia went to jail, important ministries were handed over to Saurabh.

3. Gopal Rai: Good hold within the working community Has been part of the AAP government since coming to power in 2013. He is a senior leader of the party. He is considered trustworthy by Kejriwal. He enjoys a good hold within the working community of Delhi. On several occasions, he established himself as a troubleshooter for the party. He is the Environment Minister in the current Delhi government. He has extensive experience in ministerial positions.

4. Kailash Gehlot: From the Jat family, important for political financing Has good relations with LG Vivek Saxena. LG had chosen Gehlot to hoist the flag in place of Atishi on August 15. Belongs to the Jat family. Jats in Haryana are angry with the BJP. The Aam Aadmi Party does not want to remove him from the cabinet in Haryana elections. He has held the Ministry of Transport continuously since 2017. Political financing is also important for the AAP.

5. Imran Hussain: The only Muslim face, around 11.7% of Delhi’s Muslim population. He was the only Muslim face in Kejriwal’s cabinet, which is why the party retained him in Atishi’s cabinet as well. There are approximately 11.7% Muslims in Delhi. The party wishes to retain the minority vote bank during the legislative elections which will take place in 2025.

6. Mukesh Ahlawat: Coming from the Dalit community, 12% of the Dalit population in Delhi Mukesh Ahlawat, from the Dalit community, replaced Rajkumar Anand. There are 12% Dalits in Delhi. Rajkumar Anand’s joining the BSP damaged the AAP’s Dalit vote bank. The party wants to cultivate the Dalit vote bank by making MP Ahlawat, who is in his first appointment, a minister.

Kejriwal’s resignation on the 15th, Atishi’s name announced on the 17th Arvind Kejriwal had announced his resignation on September 15, two days after he was granted bail in the Delhi liquor policy case. Atishi was elected the new chief minister at the legislature party meeting before Kejriwal’s resignation on September 17, Prime Minister Modi’s 74th birthday. The AAP, formed in 2012, will obtain national party status in 2023 After the Anna movement, Arvind Kejriwal formed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on October 2, 2012. It was granted national party status by the Election Commission on April 10, 2023. For a party to obtain national party status, it is necessary to get 6% votes in four states in Lok Sabha or Assembly elections. The party secured over 6% votes in Delhi, Punjab, Goa and Gujarat.

Besides Delhi, there is an Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. The party organization is also strong in Haryana and Gujarat. The party has three MPs in the Lok Sabha and 10 in the Rajya Sabha. AAP cadres are also active in other states of the country.

Atishi will remain CM for less than 5 months The current term of the Delhi Assembly ends on February 23, 2025. The Election Commission completes the election process before the expiry date of the five-year term of the current House. Section 15(2) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 states that notification of elections cannot be made less than 6 months before the end of the term of the Assembly.

This means that the Election Commission will have to hold parliamentary elections in Delhi within 5 months. However, at the time of announcing his resignation, Kejriwal had said that he would demand early elections in Delhi. If the lieutenant governor and the Election Commission are ready, elections could be held in Delhi even before the end of the Assembly term. As a result, Atishi will remain CM for less than 5 months.
