Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is the richest chief minister in the country. He has assets worth over Rs 931 crore. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the poorest with assets worth Rs 15 lakh.
The average wealth of chief ministers of 31 states and union territories is Rs 52.59 crore, while the total wealth is Rs 1,630 crore. This information was revealed in a report published on December 30 by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
According to the report, while India’s per capita net national income (NNI) was around Rs 1 lakh 85 thousand 854 in 2023-24, the average income of a chief minister was Rs 13 lakh 64 thousand 310. This is about 7.3 times more than India’s average per capita income.

According to the report, 13 chief ministers (42%) declared criminal cases against themselves, while 10 (32%) declared serious criminal cases, including cases related to attempted murder, kidnapping, bribery and criminal intimidation.
A maximum of 89 cases are registered against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. These include 72 serious criminal cases. There are 47 cases registered against Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, of which 11 are serious. At the same time, a total of 19 cases are registered against Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu.
