Prime Minister Modi on Saturday distributed 65 lakh property cards across 10 states and 2 Union Territories. PM Modi, who joined the program virtually, said, “Today is important for the economy of villages. This project was launched 5 years ago, so that the inhabitants of the village could obtain legal proof of their house.

Modi said: “Property rights have been a challenge in the 21st century. Many years ago, the United Nations conducted a study on land ownership in many countries. It has been revealed that in many countries around the world, people do not have strong property documents. The UN has said that if poverty is to be reduced, it is necessary for people to have property rights.

Under this program, we have given permanent legal documents of their homes to around 2.25 million people in the villages. Previously, although residents of the village owned properties worth millions of millions of dollars, they were not of much value. Because they didn’t have legal documents. Now the way is open for economic activities worth more than Rs 100 lakh crore.

In fact, Modi participated in this event virtually, while 13 Union ministers took charge on the ground. Chief Ministers of many States, Union Ministers, respective State Ministers and Panchayat representatives also participated virtually.

5 things from Modi’s speech…

Even though the people in the village owned property worth thousands of millions of dollars, it wasn’t worth much. Because they didn’t have legal documents. There were disputes over ownership of the house. The tyrants captured them. Without legal documents, even the banks were hesitant. This lasted for decades. When our government was formed in 2014, we decided to tackle this problem, no government could leave the people of its villages in such a situation. This is why we launched this program. We decided that with the help of drones, land mapping would be carried out in every village in the country. Their residential property papers will be handed over. There are more than 6 lakh villages in our country, a survey was carried out with drones in half of the villages. After obtaining the legal documents, he started a small business by taking out a loan against his house property. Backward tribal families of Dalits were struggling the most due to protracted court disputes and illegal occupations. They were relieved of this crisis thanks to legal evidence. After drawing up the property map, the way for economic activities worth more than Rs 100 lakh crore will be opened. Through this, the land also acquired a special identity. Around 23 crore Bhu Aadhaar numbers have been issued. This makes it easy to know which plot belongs to whom. About 98 percent of land records have been digitized in 8 years. For many decades after independence, millions of people in our villages were deprived of these basic facilities. The families of the tribal community were the most troubled. In 2000, when Atal ji was Prime Minister. Then a PM Gram Sadak Yojana was launched. Since then till today, 8.25 lakh km of roads have been constructed. In 10 years, we have built 4.4 million kilometers of roads. We are now running a dynamic project to increase connectivity in marginal villages. In the last ten years, more than 2 lakh panchayats have been connected to broadband connections. Our government has created more than 5,000,000 new common service centers. Rs 12 lakh crore was given to provide cheap fertilizers to farmers.

What is Swamitva Yojana 4 points

This is a program managed by the Centre. PM Modi launched this program as a pilot project in 9 states on April 24, 2021. In this project, land mapping and a registry of owners are prepared using drone technology. After that, a card is given to the owners. The full name of the project is Village Survey and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas. Its aim is to provide ownership rights over properties to villagers. 31 States and Union Territories have joined this scheme. Of these, Sikkim, Telangana and Tamil Nadu were only in the pilot phase. West Bengal, Bihar, Nagaland and Meghalaya have not joined this scheme. This program has been fully implemented in Swamitva Scheme Tripura, Goa, Uttarakhand and Haryana. Drone survey was carried out in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and many Union Territories. This map provides comprehensive information on the ground. The government wants to make it easier to monetize properties through this system, so that if someone wants to take a loan from the bank, they don’t have to run around too much. At the same time, conflicts over property must be reduced or eliminated.
