Modi said January 15 was also celebrated as Army Day. Today is a great day for the glorious history of the Indian Navy, as well as the campaign for self-reliant India.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had given new strength and vision to the Navy. Today, we take a big step toward strengthening the 21st century Navy on their sacred land. This is the first time that a destroyer, frigate and submarine have been commissioned together. All three are made in India.

4 things about Modi’s speech

1. India is becoming a maritime power; this is also reflected in the platforms launched today. Nilgiri is dedicated to the maritime prowess of the Chola dynasty. Surat War Ship recalls the times when Gujarat was connected to Western Asia through the port. Today, the Baghshir submarine is also commissioned. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to commission the first P-75 class submarine. Today I dedicate the sixth submarine of this class.

2. We consider the whole world as family. India works in the spirit of development and not expansionism. Support an open, secure and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. When it comes to the development of sea-bordering countries, India has given the mantra SAGAR – Security and Growth for All in the region. The G-20 was told that One Land, One Family, One Future. In the Corona times, we used to say “One world, one health”. We consider the whole world our family.

3. World confidence in India has increased

Our Navy has saved hundreds of lives over the past few months. Protected domestic and international goods worth thousands of crores of rupees. The world’s confidence in India has increased. Confidence in the Indian Navy and Coast Guard continues to grow. Whether it is ASEAN, Australia, the Gulf countries or Africa, India’s economic cooperation with all continues to strengthen today.

4. Work with the mantra of Make in India

The country’s largest helicopter manufacturing plant has started in Karnataka. The defense corridor under construction in UP-Tamil Nadu will further gain momentum. The Navy has also expanded the Make in India campaign. You, colleagues at Mazagon Dock Yard, have a role to play. In 10 years, 33 ships and 7 submarines were incorporated into the Navy. Of these, 39 are built in Indian shipyards.

Our armies have prepared a list of more than 5,000 such equipment, which they will no longer import from foreign countries. When an Indian soldier advances with Indian equipment, the confidence is also different.
