During the first four days of the winter session which began on November 25, the proceedings of the House lasted only 40 minutes.
The winter session of Parliament was chaotic for the fifth day in a row. The Opposition raised the issue of Adani and Sambhal in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Opposition leaders raised slogans “We want justice”.
Before the meeting, Indian bloc leaders met Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also participated. However, the TMC MLAs did not come.
Sources associated with the TMC said they want to discuss issues like unemployment, Manipur and inflation in the House, while the Congress is only creating ruckus on the Adani issue.
On the other hand, the Lok Sabha Speaker called a meeting of party and opposition leaders regarding the poor conduct of proceedings in the House. It was decided in the meeting that both chambers would function properly from December 3.
At the Speaker’s meeting, it was agreed to run the House peacefully.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has called a meeting of all the leaders of the House on Monday afternoon. Leaders of TDP, Congress, DMK, NCP Sharad faction, SP, JDU, RJD, TMC, CPI(M) and Shiv Sena (UBT) attended the meeting.
Opposition and opposition leaders held a meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday. It was decided that the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha houses would function properly. Opposition leaders made certain demands which were accepted.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “It is not right that the House is not functioning and there is a loss of public money. Everyone accepted this. The Constitution will be discussed in the Lok Sabha on 13th and 14th and in the Rajya Sabha on 16th and 17th. Tomorrow we will pass the first bill in the houses.

TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee said during the meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, “In today’s meeting, we all agreed that the House will begin from tomorrow. Parliament lasted 40 days in 4 sessions. On Monday, debates could last only 14 minutes in the Lok Sabha and around 15 minutes in the Rajya Sabha. Previously, in four meetings in four days, only a total of 40 minutes of debate could take place in both chambers.
