On November 26, 2024, 75 years have passed since the adoption of the Constitution. On this occasion, the discussion on Parliament began in the Lok Sabha. This will continue today.
Saturday is the second day of discussion on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the discussion. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh initiated the discussion on day one. He presented his point of view for 1 hour 10 minutes. After this, the opposition’s Priyanka Gandhi responded to each of his statements in 31 minutes.
Priyanka said: The Defense Minister does not take the name of Nehru ji among the framers of the Constitution. Wherever there is a need, we take care of it. What is the point of telling now what happened earlier? Now that the government is yours, tell the public what you did. He said that today’s kings do not go among the public, even if they are in disguise.
This was Priyanka’s first speech in the Lok Sabha as an MP. Apart from these, Akhilesh Yadav (SP), Mahua Moitra (TMC), TR Baalu (DMK), Shiv Sena (UBT), MP Arvind Sawant and other MPs participated in the discussion of the side of the opposition.
At the same time, from the NDA side, many other MLAs including Jagdambika Pal (BJP), Abhijeet Gangopadhyay (BJP), Rajeev Ranjan Singh (JDU), Shambhavi Choudhary (LJP-R) expressed their views. The discussion began at noon and continued until 8 p.m.
On the other hand, on December 16, Law Minister Arjun Meghwal will introduce a bill relating to One Nation-One elections in the Lok Sabha.
Rajnath’s speech and Priyanka’s response in 7 points…
1. Rajnath on the Constitution: During the last few years, an attempt has been made to create such an atmosphere in the country that the Constitution is the gift of a single party. There have been attempts at hijacking. The role of many people in the making of the Constitution has been forgotten. There was also a state in this country where the Acts of Parliament and the Constitution were not applicable. Here too, we have done everything possible.
Priyanka: The Prime Minister places the book of the Constitution on his forehead in the House. When the question of justice is raised in Sambhal-Hathras-Manipur, there is not even a wrinkle on the forehead. There was a story that the king went to the market in disguise to listen to criticism and what the people were saying. Am I on the right track or not? Today’s kings change their disguise. Neither go among the public, nor listen to criticism.
2. On Pandit Nehru Rajnath: Today, both Congress and Opposition members walk around with copies of the Constitution in their pockets. For generations, they kept the Constitution in their pockets. Constitutional amendments were made during the era of Nehru, Indira, Rajiv and Manmohan Singh. This was done to silence opponents. Like Congress, we have never made the Constitution a means to achieve political interests.
Priyanka: You don’t take Pandit Nehru’s name for good work. Wherever you need it, we’ll take it without a doubt. Nehruji created many PSUs. His name may be expunged from books and speeches, but his name can never be erased because of the role he played in freedom and nation-building.
The ruling party talks about the past. What happened in 1921, what did Nehru do? Hey, talk about the present. Tell the country what you are doing. What is your responsibility? Nehru ji’s entire responsibility?
3. On Indira Gandhi Rajnath: Congress leaders put power and personal interests ahead of the Constitution. President VV Giri did not agree with the replacement of three senior judges in 1975. The then Prime Minister did not do it because of his stubbornness. Indira Gandhi misused Article 356 to topple elected governments.
Priyanka: The ruling party colleague listed the things from 1975, you too should learn it. You also apologize for your mistake. Vote on a ballot and milk will turn into water. You overthrow governments on the basis of money.
4. On dictatorship Rajnath: Amendment of the Congress Constitution. If the Prime Minister, Governor and Chief Minister take oath, all their crimes will be forgiven. The term of the Lok Sabha was reduced to 6 years. Wasn’t it a dictatorship? Today, people from the same party say such things. If you want to do politics, do it with the public in mind. Not by throwing smoke and mirrors in their eyes.
Priyanka: The farmers of the country trust in God. Apple farmers cry in Himachal. Everything is changing for one person. The country finds that 142 million people are denied access to just one Adani. Ports, airports, roads, railways, factories, mines and government enterprises are entrusted to one person.
5. On the overthrow of governments Rajnath: In 1992, reports were received of damage to the controversial Ayodhya dome. The Kalyan Singh government resigned at 5 p.m. The resignation was not accepted. he was sacked. In 1997, we proved our majority. The President of the Assembly accepted it. A group of congressmen went to the governor and were told there was no majority. This government has been removed from office.
Priyanka: Who tried to break the governments of Maharashtra and Himachal on the basis of money? Were the governments not elected by the people? The Constitution does not apply to them. The audience laughs, knowing there are washing machines here. It goes from here to there, it gets carried away. I have many friends who have gone in this direction. Probably washed in the washing machine.
6. On the census of castes Rajnath: If you are doing a caste census, also indicate to whom the reservation amount will be given. You bring the blue plan. I say this should also be discussed in Parliament. We opposed any attempt to undermine the Constitution, even during the dark days of the state of emergency. I also stayed in prison for 18 months. When my mother died, she didn’t even get parole for starting the fire.
Priyanka: When the government won while losing, it became clear that talks to amend the Constitution would not work. You mentioned the caste census because the election results were unfavorable to you. The proof of their seriousness is that when the entire opposition raised the issue of caste census during the elections, they declared that they would steal the buffalo, they would steal the mangalsutra. The Constitution itself has explained to you the meaning of women’s power. This is why you passed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act. It’s been 10 years of government, when will it be implemented?
7. On the role of the opposition Rajnath: Today, what their leaders say (without taking Rahul Gandhi’s name) when they go to foreign soil, the incident of Atal ji (Atal Bihari Vajpayee) seems like a story. Learn to play the role of a mature opposition. In 1996, Atal ji had a 13-day government.
Priyanka: Today, people are intimidated and threatened for speaking the truth. ED, CBI, Income Tax, file fake cases. Opposition leaders are imprisoned. Such an atmosphere of fear existed in the country under British rule. When the Gandhian ideologues on this side were fighting for freedom, the people on the other side (the ruling party) were in collusion with the British.
Rahul and Kharge praised Priyanka’s speech
Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge Priyanka said that I gave a very beautiful speech. He presented all the facts to the government and explained how the Constitution was being misused. We are very happy.
Mahua said- Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra has accused the Center of damaging the Constitution. He said: “It is clear that over the past decade politicians have progressively undermined democracy.
Akhilesh said: The government is promoting inequality. SP MP Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the government is promoting inequality. It has failed to uphold the constitutional rights of marginalized communities. For the PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority), saving the Constitution is a matter of life and death.
of the debate between Rajya Sabha Chairman Dhankhar and Congress President Kharge ahead of the discussion on the Constitution…
Dhankhar said – I tolerated a lot, Kharge said – You don’t respect me, why should I?
Ahead of the debate on the Constitution in Parliament, there was a heated debate between Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday. Dhankhar said, “I suffered a lot. I am the son of a farmer, I do not bow down. The opposition has torn the Constitution to pieces.
In response, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “You are insulting our party leaders. Your job is to run the House. We didn’t come here to listen to your praise. If you are the son of a farmer, I am the son of a worker. If you don’t respect me, why should I respect you? …
