India strengthened their position on the fourth day of the second Test against Bangladesh. Due to rain, only 35 overs could be played in 3 days. On the fourth day, Bangladesh scored 233 runs, after which India declared the innings by scoring 285 runs in 34.4 overs. Then Bangladesh also took 2 wickets in the second innings.

1. Mominul Haq left for DRS

Mominul Haq did not stay out due to DRS, he played an innings of 107 runs.

In the 46th minute, Mominul Haq was caught by the referee on Mohammad Siraj’s first ball. Mominul tried to defend on the back of the long ball, but the ball hit him and passed into the hands of Yashasvi Jaiswal standing at short leg.

India appealed and the umpire made the decision to withdraw. Mominul reviewed the match, replays showed that the ball hit Mominul’s pads. The referee therefore had to modify his decision.

2. Rohit caught a flying catch with one hand

Rohit Sharma jumped in the air and caught a flying catch with one hand.

Their fifth wicket fell in the 50th over of the Bangladesh innings. Rohit Sharma leapt into the air at mid-off and took a brilliant one-handed catch. Siraj bowled the fourth ball of the over on a good length, Liton stepped forward to play a big shot. But midway through, Rohit jumped in the air and took a great catch.

3. Siraj made an excellent high catch

Mohammad Siraj jumped back and took an excellent catch with his left hand.

Ravichandran Ashwin created a surprise for Bangladesh in his very first match. In the 56th over, he had Shakib Al Hasan caught by Mohammad Siraj. Shakib was out after scoring 9 runs.

Shakib came out to Ashwin’s ball and played the shot. Siraj stood at mid-off and the ball went high into the sky. Siraj judged the ball well and jumped running back and took an excellent catch with his left hand. Shakib scored 9 points.

4. Mominul got 2 lives in 2 overs.

Before completing his century, Mominul Haq had two lives with scores of 94 and 95 runs. In the 64th over, Mominul cut Ashwin’s good length ball, the ball went towards Pant, but he couldn’t catch it. In the next over, Virat Kohli dropped the ball from Siraj.

5. Bumrah kicked out Mehdi

Jasprit Bumrah played against Mehdi Hasan Miraj in the 70th minute. Mehdi hit two fours on the first and second balls of the over. Bumrah had him trapped in the third ball and sent it to the pavilion. Bumrah then clapped and showed Mehdi the way to the pavilion. He played a 20-point inning.

6. Rohit started by hitting 2 sixes.

After bowling out Bangladesh for 233, India got off to a fast start thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma. Yashasvi hit 3 fours in the first over against Hasan Mahmood. Rohit then hit 2 sixes off the first 2 balls of the second over against Khaled Ahmed. 17 runs were scored in this over.

7. Rohit saved in DRS, played on the next ball

After being saved in the DRS, Rohit Sharma was bowled on the next ball.

Rohit Sharma had life in third on himself. He was caught off Hasan Mahmood’s first ball, but Bangladesh made no appeal and Rohit survived. Rohit hit a six off the next ball. Then in the fourth over, Mehdi Hasan Miraj made Rohit LBW on the fourth ball.

Rohit examined the ball, replays showed that the ball was missing the stumps. So Rohit didn’t stay out, but Mehdi bowled him from the next ball. Rohit scored 23 runs off 11 balls.

8. Rishabh Pant saved thanks to DRS catch

Rishabh Pant could only score 9 runs even after being saved in DRS.

In the 16th over, Rishabh Pant was caught behind Shakib’s ball. Pant immediately took notice, replays showed that the ball did not hit Pant’s bat. The on-field umpire changed his decision and Pant remained out. Pant got out again after scoring just 9 runs.

9. Kohli avoided being run out and got angry with Pant

After the on-field confusion, Rishabh Pant hugged Kohli and apologized.

Virat Kohli avoided being run out in the 19th over. After gaining an inside edge from the very first ball against Khaled Ahmed, Virat came forward to run. Pant also started taking runs from the non-striker’s end, but he stopped midway. Meanwhile, Khaled collected the ball and threw it towards the stumps.

Khaled’s throw didn’t hit the stumps and Kohli returned to his crease. He got angry with Pant again, but Rishabh hugged Kohli and apologized.

10. Liton brought Kohli to life

Virat Kohli played an innings of 47 runs off 35 balls.

In the 25th over, Virat took the lead and hit a six off Taijul Islam. He had life at the next ball. He stepped forward to play a shot on the next ball as well, but the ball passed into the hands of wicketkeeper Liton Das. However, he couldn’t stop and Kohli survived.

11. Akash Deep hit 2 sixes with Kohli’s bat.

After the fall of India’s 7th wicket, Akash Deep came to bat. He had played without a sponsored bat in the last match, but in Kanpur he came out to bat with a bat sponsored by Kohli’s MRF. He couldn’t hit a six off the first ball against Shakib, but he hit two sixes off the next two balls. He scored 12 runs off 5 balls.
