India reached a strong position on the first day of the Chennai Test against Bangladesh. The team scored 339 runs after losing 6 wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin was not out after scoring 102 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 86 runs. Hasan Mahmood took 4 wickets for Bangladesh.
On the first day, Ashwin and Jadeja received a standing ovation after their 195-session partnership. An argument was seen between Liton Das and Rishabh Pant. Ravindra Jadeja, after completing his fifty, celebrated by waving his bat in the air like a sword.

1. Zakir Hasan hits the stumps Bangladesh’s Zakir Hasan collided with the stumps while trying to run out India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi tried to take a single by pushing the ball towards point, but Zakir quickly moved towards the ball and tried to throw it into the stumps.
