The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) launched Team India’s new ODI jersey on Friday. During this ceremony, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Indian Women’s Cricket Team Captain Harmanpreet Kaur were also present. This jersey is made by the famous German sportswear company Adidas.

The previous jersey of the Indian team was all blue and featured three Adidas stripes on the shoulders. This time, the three Adidas stripes on the shoulder have received the color of the tricolor flag. The blue color of this jersey is slightly lighter than the previous jersey but it has been given a darker color on the sides.

BCCI shared the video of the new jersey on X and Instagram. Harmanpreet Kaur said about the new jersey, “It is an honor for me that the new jersey was launched in my presence. I’m quite happy with its look. Especially the tricolor flag on the shoulder.

Women’s team to wear new jersey against West Indies

The women’s team will wear the new jersey for the first time against the West Indies. The West Indies team will visit India in December. A series of 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches will be played between India and West Indies. The T20 series will begin on December 15. All the matches of this series will be played in Mumbai. The ODI series will begin on December 22. All the matches of this series will be played in Vadodara.

After this, the team will tour Australia for a 3-match ODI series. The first ODI between India and Australia will be played on December 5 and the second on December 8. These two matches will be played in Brisbane. The third match will be played in Perth on December 11.

ODI World Cup also in 2025

The Women’s ODI World Cup will also be held in India in 2025. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format between September and October. Only 8 teams, including India, will participate. Australia is the reigning champion of the tournament and is also the team that has won the title 7 times.

The men’s team will be seen in New Jersey in January next year

The Indian men’s team will be seen for the first time in this jersey against England in January 2025. Initially, a 3-match T20 series will be played between India and England. After this, the Indian team will also be seen in this jersey during the Champions Trophy to be held in February-March.

Jerseys of all three formats were launched last year

Last year, Team India made sports brand Adidas the kit sponsor. After which, the company itself released a video and released three different designed jerseys for the three formats.

Jersey changed before T20 World Cup

The Indian team was seen in New Jersey during the T20 World Cup hosted by West Indies and USA. Kit sponsor Adidas had created a new blue jersey. In which there was an orange color combination. At the same time, the V-shaped collar had the color of the tricolor.

Contract with Adidas until 2028

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) signed a contract with Adidas until 2028. During the Cricket World Cup from 1992 to 1999, the Indian cricket team’s jerseys were manufactured by Asics. After that, the cricket team did not have any sponsors until 2005. In December 2005, Nike signed a five-year contract. After that, Nike also signed contracts in 2011 and 2016. In 2020, Nike terminated his contract.

MPL replaced Nike in 2020. The deal between MPL and BCCI lasted until the end of 2023, but the company decided to terminate the contract midway. After this, Killer became the kit sponsor of Team India.
