Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami will leave for Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy with captain Rohit Sharma. This five-match Test series will begin on November 22 in Perth. The decision to join the team will only be made after a match.
A BCCI source told Indianewsget that Rohit could join the team before the Perth Test. With him, Shami can also fly to Australia. Rohit did not leave for Australia with the team due to personal reasons. The remaining team members reached Australia on November 11 itself.
The Indian team reached Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The first Test will be played in Perth from November 22. The team will play 5 test matches there.

Shami, 34, played in the ODI World Cup final against Australia on November 19, 2023. After that, he did not play any international matches. The Bengal coach said, “Shami is in good form, the more he plays the better he will get.”
Bengal coach Lakshmi Ratan Shukla had said that after a year of playing cricket things are not getting so easy but looking at Shami’s fitness level it seems that the work he has accomplished was very good. He bowled 10 overs, in which his pace was quite good. Shukla said: “Looking at Shami, it looks like he can go and bowl the game. The more he bowls, the better it is for him at the moment. There is a world of difference between bowling in the nets and bowling in the match.”
