A 15-member Indian squad has been announced for the Test series against New Zealand starting October 16. Apart from these, four traveling reserves have also been preserved. Jasprit Bumrah was named vice-captain.

No vice-captain of the Indian team has been selected for the two-match series against Bangladesh. The BCCI is believed to be considering Bumrah as the future captain of the Test team after Rohit Sharma.

The team’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami is not fully fit yet. He has no place on the team. Shami is recovering from an ankle injury for which he underwent surgery earlier this year. He has been out of the field since the 2023 ODI World Cup final due to injury. Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal is out due to injury. He was part of the Indian squad for the Bangladesh series.
