The pair of PV Sindhu and Satwik-Chirag reached the quarter-finals of the India Open Badminton. In men’s singles, Kiran George performed brilliantly and secured a place in the quarter-finals. India’s challenge in women’s doubles and mixed doubles has come to an end.

The BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament is being played at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi. On Tuesday, Sindhu and Satwik-Chirag had won their respective first round matches.

Anupama Upadhyay lost 6-21, 9-21 against Japan’s Tomoka Miyazaki. In men’s singles, Kiran beat Frenchman Alex Lanier 22-20, 21-13.

Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Krishto couple, Rituparna Panda and Shwetaparna Panda couple and Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam couple lost. In mixed doubles, the pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha had to face defeat along with the pair of Asith Surya and Amrita Prithamesh.
