The 2024 National Sports Prize was announced on Thursday by the Ministry of Sports. Double Olympic medal shooter Manu Bhakar, world chess champion D Gukesh, hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh and para-athlete Praveen Kumar will receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.

Apart from this, 5 coaches will receive the Dronacharya Award, 2 of them for lifetime achievement. The Arjuna Award will be given to 34 players, including 17 para-athletes, while 2 will receive lifetime achievement awards. The award ceremony will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 17.
