The final of the World Chess Championship is being played between Indian D Gukesh and Chinese Ding Liren in Singapore.

Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh was defeated in the 12th match against China’s Ding Liren. Defending champion Liren was defeated in the 11th match. He has now won with the white pieces. After the 12th game, the score of the World Chess Championship final was 6-6.

Gukesh 1.5 points away from becoming champion

Until Sunday, Gukesh led 6-5 after 11 matches. Out of 11 matches, 8 were draws, while Gukesh won 2 and Liren won 1. Now, Liren won the 12th match and tied the score again. There are only 2 games left in the 14-game final. To become champion, the player must reach 7.5 points.

Tuesday is a rest day, there will be no match that day. The remaining 2 matches of the final will be played between the two players on Wednesday and Thursday. If no result is achieved even after 14 matches, a tiebreaker will be used.

Achieved victory after 7 consecutive draws on Sunday, Gukesh achieved victory over Liren after playing 7 consecutive draws. The 10th match between the two ended in a draw a day earlier on Saturday. Here, the 7th consecutive draw and 8th overall took place in the World Chess Championship final. Liren won the first match, while Gukesh won the third.

Gukesh will become the youngest world champion. If Indian star Gukesh wins this final, he will become the youngest world chess champion. Gukesh is currently 18 years old. Previously, Gukesh won the FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament at the age of 17. He has already become the youngest player to win this title.
