Crash test process
1. For the test, 4-5 human-like mannequins sit in the car. There is a child mannequin in the rear seat, which is attached to the ISOFIX child seat.
2. The vehicle collides with an offset deformable barrier (hard object) at a fixed speed to see the extent of damage to the vehicle and the dummy. This is done in three ways.
During the frontal impact test, the car is hit by a barrier at a speed of 64 km/h. During the side impact test, the car is hit by a barrier at a speed of 50 km/h. During the pole side impact test, the car will be hit. be seen hitting a pole at a fixed speed. If the car gets 3 stars in the first two tests, the third test is carried out.
3. The test helps determine the extent of damage caused to the dummy after impact, whether the airbags and safety devices worked or not. The rating is assigned based on all of these elements.
