Hero MotoCorp has launched the Dakar edition of its XPulse 200 4V Pro off-road motorcycle in the Indian market. The dirt bike comes with adjustable suspension and three ABS riding modes.
The special edition of the motorcycle is based on the XPulse 200 4V Rally Pro, but it has received a new livery inspired by the Dakar Rally. There are black and red sports graphics on the bottom and side panels of the tank as well as the Dakar Rally logo on either side of the fuel tank. Other than that, there are no changes to the bike.
Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition has been priced at Rs 1,67,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is now the top-end variant of the XPulse 200 4V range. The XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition has no direct competition with any bike, but in the adventure bike segment it competes with other premium models like Suzuki V-Strom SX, KTM 250 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
Design: 60mm high rally style windshield According to the company’s official website, the Hero XPulse 200 4V Dakar Edition features a new 60mm high rally style windshield and a Class D LED projector headlight with LED daytime running lights like the Pro variant. Along with this, the bike has been given an updated luggage plate, handguard and USB charging port.
Performance: 18.8 bhp of power and 17.35 Nm of torque. For performance, the Hero XPulse 200 4V Dakar Edition, like other variants, is equipped with a BS6 4V oil-cooled engine with valves, which has a maximum power of 18.8 hp at 8,000 rpm. maximum torque of 18.8 hp at 6,500 rpm, peak at 17.35 Nm. Generates torque. For the transmission, the engine is tuned with a 5-speed gearbox. This engine is E-20 gasoline compatible and OBD-2 compliant.
Three new ABS riding modes have been added to the motorcycle, including Road, Off-road and Rally modes. Road mode is suitable for dry roads. In off-road mode, the power of the ABS is reduced, making it easier to ride the bike on roads with sand, gravel and hilly areas. Whereas in rally mode, the ABS stops completely. The special thing is that it only has a single-channel ABS mode.
Fully adjustable suspension will be available in the Pro variant. The Hero XPulse 200 4V Dakar Edition bike has a fully adjustable suspension of 250 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear. Thanks to the new suspension setup, it benefits from a ground clearance of 270 mm and a seat height of 891 mm. Along with this, an extended shifter and handlebar riser have been provided in the bike.
