Honda Cars has recalled more than 90,000 vehicles today (October 26) due to a technical defect. These include the Amaze subcompact sedan, Brio hatchback, BR-V SUV, City compact sedan, Jazz premium sedan and WR-V subcompact SUV. Honda provided this information in a regulatory filing.

This recall by the Japanese automaker covers models manufactured between June 2017 and October 2018. Honda told the market regulator that 92,672 vehicles sold in the Indian market were recalled due to a defect in the fuel pump. These include 2,204 vehicles whose fuel pumps were also replaced earlier.

The company will replace defective parts free of charge. Honda claims that these cars may have a fuel pump with a faulty impeller, due to which the engine may stop or have difficulty starting.

The automaker will contact its customers in different phases starting November 5. Vehicle owners will be informed about the replacement of defective parts. No fees will be charged to the customer for this.

Customers can check if their vehicle is included in the recall by visiting the Product Update/Recall page via the Service tab on the Honda Cars India website by providing the VIN of their car.

1. Baleno and WagonR recall: In July 2020, Maruti recalled 1,34,885 units of WagonR and Baleno. These models were produced between November 15, 2018 and October 15, 2019. The company had recalled the vehicles due to a defect in the fuel pump.2. Maruti Eeco Recall: As of November 2020, the company had recalled 40,453 units of Eeco. The company made this decision due to the absence of the standard symbol on the vehicle’s headlight. This recall covers Eeco manufactured between November 4, 2019 and February 25, 2020.3. Mahindra Pickup Recall: In 2021, Mahindra & Mahindra recalled 29,878 units of its commercial pickup trucks. The company had said that a fluid hose needed to be replaced in certain pickup vehicles manufactured between January 2020 and February 2021.4. Mahindra Thar recall: Mahindra & Mahindra had recalled 1,577 units of the diesel variant of its off-road SUV Thar in February 2021. The company had said that these parts were damaged due to a glitch in the machine of the ‘factory. All units were produced between September 7 and December 25, 2020.5. Royal Enfield Recall: In May 2021, Royal Enfield recalled 2,36,966 units of Bullet 350, Classic 350 and Meteor 350 over fears of short circuit. All of these items were manufactured between December 2020 and April 2021.
